We beat UNC on the road and played them twice. If they end up with a 1 seed resume, that win looks pretty damn good.

Duke winning wouldn't be a disaster, either.

Haha. UNC winning the tournament has zero effect on us getting in. We are a lock. Relax. 10 or 11 seed at worst. ND or Cuse aren’t taking our spot.

^Exactly, never under any circumstance pull for the tarbuttholes. Those guys hate us as much as we hate them. Even if Syracuse wins the ACC (which they won't) the only thing they'll have better than us is a win against UVA. Lets not forget that we beat them in their house which counts for something.

We have a very similar resume to VT. Better than FSU. Much better than Louisville, Syracuse, and ND. UL and Cuse have better RPI numbers because the quadrant 4 teams they played average 200 instead of 300.

Pros/cons of playing through Dayton or instead getting a #1 NIT seed? One means playing in real games that might end up mattering and making history, the other means getting more games and maybe a trophy that doesn't matter.

I have a fond memory of us playing in Reynolds for the NIT...in maybe 2007? Insignificant to program history but fun in the moment.

I also remember us destroying Xavier in Dayton, then losing one of the must frustrating games I've ever watched against St. Louis. That was the year Kentucky went to the final as an 8 seed.

Not sure where this came from, right now it shows us as a 9 seed. CBS has us as a 9 too, I don't think we are in much danger of falling out unless every team on bubble strings together some wins. ASU, OK and VT losses probably helped as long as Duke ( v ND) and Kansas ( v Ok St) take care of business today.

ive become too secure in thinking we've both made it and will avoid dayton. this is probably a bad sign, but for now my worst case scenario is we get an 8/9 game against a nightmare draw (oklahoma/missouri for instance - i actually think both these teams suck and will lose to anyone they draw EXCEPT us, but we'll do something dumb and get killed by them)
