I don't know if these Warriors can be beaten

there are lots of things that can happen that would make them beatable, just not when they are at or near the level they've been playing at

there's just nothing more Lebron can do

Cavs can only hope for a devastating Durant or Curry injury at this point, because a Draymond suspension for game 5 isn't going to bail them out this time.

As crazy as it sounds, a Warriors sweep doesn't seem all that far fetched. If they win game 3 in Cleveland, I might actually put some money on it.

Durant ruined the nba for the next five years. You cant really count any of these titles towards curry or durants legacy either. Plus it screws lebron so now morons can still claim jordan was better.

Really ruined what would have been another great couple of playofg matches and i think okc would have broken through a few of these years

Im actively rooting for him to get injured badly right after they sign him to a long term deal this offseason

If you're going to blame Durant, you have to blame Lebron for going to Miami.

Let's not get crazy now. Call me a Warriors casual/bandwagon/fair weather fan all you want, but in my lifetime (born in '84) it's been Lakers, Bulls, Lakers, Spurs-ish (99, 03, 05, 07, 14) and a Celts/Mavs ship, mini Miami 'dynasty' (06, 12, 123) and the most recents Dubs/Cavs trilogy. Durant hasn't 'ruined' the NBA anymore than LeBron, Kobe, or Jordan did.

Unless you've been a diehard fan of 5-7 teams, the NBA has been a yawnfest for the vast majority of people. Say what you want about Baseball, but it's had a far greater diversity of winners of the past 30+ years, along with the NHL.

False. The salary cap spike that made it possible for the best regular season team in NBA history to pick up a top 5 player without losing anything. THAT ruined the NBA for the next five years--assuming the warriors can manage to hang on to their core.

The only person who screwed LeBron was LeBron. LeBron the GM should have recruited players who could actually play some damn defense instead of Kevin Love and JR Smith to pair with himself and Kyrie Irving. The Cavaliers couldn't defend a team of grandmothers.

Superteams are not a new thing, they've been around as long as the NBA has existed. Durant didn't ruin shit.

Between 1984-2005, only 6 different franchises won NBA titles. SIX. Six teams in 22 seasons. I fail to see how Durant and the Warriors have ruined the NBA by potentially winning 3/4 over a 5/6 year period.

IMO, the Warriors aren't the problem - they would've had a VERY competitive series against the Spurs had Kawhi and Parker not gone down. The West still has good teams, although clearly if Durant had stayed at OKC there'd be more parity in the West.

The problem is the East. This playoffs sucked because neither team had any challengers along the way. In the West you could argue that it's because of the aforementioned injuries to the Spurs. But in the East, there are no excuses. There are no other competitive teams outside of Cleveland, and this has been the problem the past 7 years - the East has been Lebron and nothing else. This fact has made the NBA playoff bracket only interesting on one side, and all the traditional rivalries have disappeared for the time being. The NBA needs teams like the Bulls/Knicks/Sixers etc to get competitive again, as it stands now the largest NBA fan bases all have shit teams, majority of them being in the East. I remember loving the Bulls/Knicks series, the Pacers/Knicks, Heat/Knicks, Celtics/Pistons - all inter-conference playoff matchups that were intense, competitive and fun to watch. Half the playoff bracket doesn't have those anymore.

Durant hasn't ruined the NBA more than Lebron has.
You have to give the Warriors management a lot of credit. Things could change when Curry gets a new contract, but I think they'll keep the super team together. I'll admit I'm biased against Lebron, but I'm glad that a western conf team made it possible for him not to walk to championships.
There does need to be more parity for smaller market teams. Hopefully a Lebron/Love/Kyrie feud can open the door for some up and comers in the east.

2013-2014

PPG
1. Kevin Durant, OKC 32.0
2. Carmelo Anthony, NY 27.4
3. LeBron James, MIA 27.1
4. Kevin Love, MIN 26.1
5. James Harden, HOU 25.4

It's not Durant's fault that Love couldn't make the Cavs a super team. They tried. #otherfactorsinvolved #notapplestoapples

Just not a good comparison.

MAYBE a good comparison would be [hypothetically] the Miami Heat adding Paul George to their team after they lost to the Mavericks the first year Lebron was there. But that doesn't even work because Wade was on the decline and the Heat still weren't head and shoulders the best team in the league at the time (Spurs, Thunder, and Mavs were probably on the same level). The Warriors just set the mark for the best record ever, have two of the best shooters in history who haven't even reached their peak, and then they added one of the top 5 shooters in the league who is easily a top 3 player (could argue he is the best).

You can say that Lebron "did it first" (which is stupid...because the Celtics did the same thing a few years earlier)...but the Warriors took it to whole other level. They were already the best team in the league...they just took it to invincibility.

Real talk there was so many factors that lead to KD signing with GSW I'm surprised that someone hasn't written an article or made a comprehensive list. Off the top of my head:

1. Curry had to have weak ankles for his second contract to be below max
2. Green had to turn into a do-everything defender and dynamic playmaker from an random early 2nd round draft pick
3. KD never won it all in OKC and was paired with RWB, a dude whose playstyle didn't mesh well with KD
4. Barnes had to turn down a 4 year/$64 million deal to be eligible for FA last summer
5. OKC had to blow the 3-1 lead, then GSW had to blow their 3-1 lead. KD doesn't leave OKC if they make the finals and doesn't join GSW if they win the championship.
6. Cap had to spike so GSW could sign KD without trading away one of Thompson, Green, Iggy, or Curry.

Eh the Celtics traded away half their roster for Garnett and Allen, not really the same as Lebron and Bosh signing with the Heat.

I feel for those of you that think this is boring and I understand where you're coming from, but I'm loving it so far. Granted I was the kind of kid to play NBA Live on easy and see how may points I could score so maybe I'm not the best judge, but I can't get over how easy GSW make it look.

^Don't forget the smart/lucky decision not to trade Klay for Love a few years back.

It will be interesting to see if they can talk draymond and steph into taking less than max contracts in the coming years to keep the core together.

It IS Lebron's fault. He's such a good player, that the 2nd best player in the league had to join one of the best teams of all time, since that's the only way they could beat Lebron.

SIMILAR things happened before but never before had the player who was clearly the best leave to join other superstars during his prime. Lebron's move was monumental. Most noteworthy comparisons were late-career players and never the guy who was above and beyond the greatest.

Durant wasn't the greatest but never before had an elite MVP type star leave a contender in his prime to join the all-time winningest team. Lebron laid the foundation to make this shit possible.

Lebron James was Sputnik and the GSW are Apollo.

Um, are you forgetting 2015? Or are you one of those people who don't count the Ws first championship because Kyrie and Love were hurt, while ignoring injuries/suspensions in 2016 and saying it was all Lebron.

The Ws were capable of beating Lebron before, but now they have the chance to humiliate him.

I would say getting swept in the Finals would be extremely humiliating for Lebron if it were to happen. And no, I'm not saying a sweep is imminent- it's only been two games.

The goal post moving ITT is pretty ridiculous, even for TWW

Man I really hate this golden state team. I know it's weird but they are just not that fun to watch to me. Them not losing a game in the playoffs is not interesting to me. They got lucky that the salary cap went up right as kd was looking to sign.

Where the real Oakland fans at? All I see are these silicon valley dbags.

Looks like a sweep. I mean they could pull out game 4 just so Golden State gets to close at home but it's over. Durant is the only hungry player in the series without a title (other than role players like Korver) so his talent and motivation is too much. I'm sure people will act like subbing in Jordan for Lebron on this Cavs team would somehow change the outcome of the series.
