First - I am not in trouble.
Back story: I moved into the house I am in now with my fiance about a year and a half ago. The entire time we have lived here we have been receiving mail for the previous tenants. I always do a return to sender and add that they no longer live here.
Today I received something for one of the previous tenants that was from the Craven County Superior Courts. While on my way inside to get a pen the envelope just happened to pass in front of the light just perfectly enough and I saw something along the lines of revocation of bond. I'm assuming that means that she has a warrant out for her.
Now here are my questions....first, is there someone in the court system I can call to tell them she doesn't live here anymore? Second, if a sheriff shows up at my house looking to arrest her, what are my rights? Like can I just say that she doesn't live there and they will leave it at that, or will they try to come in a search for her just in case?

Suuuuuuuuuuure.
I got a buddy that lives in the last known US address of a fugitive. He gets knocks on the door time to time from Cops and PIs looking for her and just tells them she moved out years ago and they leave. 5/1/2017 5:56:26 PM

I need to just leave a pen in the back of the mail box so it's handy. I always do return to sender. I've even told our delivery person she doesn't live here anymore...but the mail just keeps coming.
A friend of mine got her old cell phone number and ended up having to get it changed again cause bill collectors wouldn't stop calling looking for her. 5/1/2017 8:35:27 PM

I'm just going off what she told me. She's not exactly a friend, I guess more of an acquaintance. However, when I posted this on Facebook she told me this.
I don't know what else to tell you! It's a true story! 5/1/2017 9:31:39 PM

no shit, I just read this thread after posting mine in Lounge. Had a cop at my house tonight.
Yes, an officer will still show up if you only do what I did: RTS the summons letter.

My wife has this problem with one particular agency looking for someone who clearly isn't her. Ignoring them doesn't work, telling them that the person in question is no longer at this number doesn't work, telling them not to call back doesn't work. They've been calling 1-2x per month for probably two years at this point. Plus my wife has had that phone # since 2008, so either the agency made an error entering the number, the girl gave them a wrong number, or it's a really really old debt. ![](images/crack.gif) 5/2/2017 1:40:59 AM

^crazy as it sounds the law allows for people to tell thier creditors to stop calling and they are required to do so BUT if its a wrong number they can call as much as they want. maybe next time say yes this her and stop calling

^hopefully the debt will go away.
I think if you address them, it will get the debt open. Never talk to debt collectors. 5/2/2017 8:51:11 AM

yeah, these debt buyers don't give a shit about the law. i've had many messages over the years for a Mr. Brandon Wilcox who used to have my phone number. these guys regularly leave messages claiming they are going to have the dude arrested and his assets seized and shit. 5/2/2017 9:03:09 AM
