All the old threads are old threads.
Started watching it really for the first time (catching up on a lot of older shows). HBO really knows how to do a great show.
Although Tony's mother is one of the most insufferable characters in a tv show I think I've ever seen. Although some folks in Tony's gang are just a little too stereotypical.
And what a great window to the 90's/00's.

Doubt it would fly today though.
The characters in 13 Reasons Why are all fictional, that doesn't keep the show from getting controversy stirred up.

Interesting timing of this thread, as I'm currently rewatching the series. Almost done with season 4.
What I've really noticed, maybe more than when I watched it a decade+ ago, is how shitty of a person Tony's sister Janice is. And Tony's kids Meadow & AJ are little shits as well, lol. 5/11/2017 8:00:09 AM

I think the Season 2 finale "funhouse" is my favorite episode. There are other great ones (Whitecaps, Pine barrens, etc)but this one gets me in the Jimmies.

Kinda sad David Chase is cashing in on the nostalgia craze.
That being said, Gandolfini's son is a near dead-wringer for a young Tony. I'll watch. 7/5/2021 10:46:55 PM

David Chase is a genius! I've been re-watching this series on repeat for the past 8 months.
Season 1 Episode 6 - Pax Saprano - Tony's 2nd Dream Sequence
Tony is in his home bathroom when he hears the shower next to the toilet. He glances over to see the figure of a naked woman through the frosted glass doors. The shower stops, the shower door opens, and he sees Dr. Melfi.

Liking the theme music in Season 3 E1: Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood. Brilliantly executed mashup of Henry Mancini's "Peter Gunn" and The Police's "Every Breath You Take."

So I watched The Many Saints of Newark, and while I enjoyed seeing the younger versions of some of the characters, overall I was pretty disappointed. This was billed as an origin story for Tony Soprano, and all it really did was just show him hanging out with his uncle for a bit. I was expecting a Tony Soprano breaking bad, and the movie was NOT that. 10/13/2021 4:48:29 PM
