Musicians at a Bar: if they were any good people would be buying tickets to see them
Cleaning Services (car, house, yard, etc.): clean your own damn house
Construction Services: I posted a long rant a few years ago about how I crossed out and initialed the part of the contract where they could raise prices because of "increasing costs" they were pissed, but at the time the recession was so bad they would not say no, then I paid the subcontractors directly and I think that pissed off the general as well

Personal trainer: at $40/hr, you have got it made
People doing work on my house/property: $lunch, I got lots a free channels for a year after doing this one time
Car wash person: no
Full service gas person (if you go to NJ and/or Canada): no
Pet groomer: 1st world problem
Shoe shine: apparently this is still a thing
tow truck driver: how fast did you get here?
Lowe's/home depot appliance delivery: did you give me crap about helping get the old one out? if not, that's good for a $5 and possibly $lunch
Lap Dance Lady: hahaha, only if we get to the back room

As i've gotten older and have more disposable income, the tipping question bothers me much less. I'll tip everyone, IDGAF.

How about tipping on alcohol? If your meals are $50 and you also get a $50 bottle of wine, do you tip an extra $10 for the bottle of wine or less?

If your food is $50 and your drinks are $50, you tip on a $100 check. What is the confusion?

I'm not talking about a bunch of drinks that are $50, I'm saying a single bottle of wine.

Why would there be a difference? Do you get a $50 entree and tip differently than five $10 appetizers?

1. Read the total amount of your bill
2. Tip on that amount

No

But if people have been working outside I'll bring beers out when they're finishing up

Can confirm. Cut synapse's grass about 10 years ago and he provided a cold beer.

My favorite thing in this thread so far is tipping less for the wine portion of the meal. I’m going to talk about this with people.

I get what he's saying... "a guy came by the table, and opened ONE (1) bottle of wine, which was significantly less work than preparing 5 drinks. Both are ~$50, but should not be tipped the same, because they didn't require the same amount of work."
I've never heard that argument, but I get it. I still tip 20% of the total bill including wine service.

You guys know that in most restaurants with $50 bottles of wine the staff pool their tips?

Maybe I’m wrong!

Regardless. The thought process of tipping less on the wine portion of the check is silly.

I'm not going to give someone 10 dollars to open and pour 4 glasses of wine. Bar prices for simple pours, one dollar per drink.

Are we talking a meal with drinks at a table or drinking at a bar? Bc the initial funny was a $50 bottle of wine during dinner.
