Isn't rallycross destroying (in terms of growth in viewers/followers) all other forms of Motorsport right now?

Flaps beat the hell out of slammed and stretched tire trends by a mile.

I don't know the stats on that, but maybe? Because in general it's quite inexpensive to participate in. Similar to Autox but less expensive wear items ( I think?). However Most cars at RallyX events are shitboxes, or at the least have the outward appearance of shitboxes.

I'm talking about that RedBull Rallycross series. NBC sports picked up several races this year. It has more manufacturers than WRC. I keep telling people it could be the next NASCAR (probably a gross oversell) in that builds off of some of the things that originally made NASCAR great: close ties to dirt track racing and a "rubbing is racing" mentality.

Kids these days can actually see themselves driving these cars (somewhat affordable, not shitty sedans or some open cockpit F1 car). then they can slap some mud flaps and stickers on there and boom-> instant rallycross cred.
