I vote that we dedicate each of the next 3 pages to a different GSW player.

I’ll start. Draymond Green is so cool and nice.

So Kevin _ooney's career is probably over. If you can't make it as a switching big man with the Warriors, then there are no roles left for you in the league.

I'm late but

Curry is probably the best shooter on the the planet, and is a plus facilitator

Durant is the best pure scorer on the planet and has turned into a good/great defender

Lebron is, what, the next best scorer on the planet? A top 5 facilitator, a great rebounder, runs the offense on every possession, a good defender, and the best player on the planet.

Let's talk James Harden instead since it hurt so much to go one post without mentioning my favorite player.

Lebron is a pass-first player, and he's going to be the all time scoring leader

Also, Bill Russell won 8 straight titles and Wilt is 2-4 in the Finals, but Wilt is better

basketball historians side with Russell over Wilt

from what I’ve read, Wilt was the Westbrook of his day. an athletic freak who chased stats.

from what I've read, Wilt always outplayed Russell head to head. Russell was just on a loaded team.

Quote :
"basketball historians side with Russell over Wilt"

plenty of them say Wilt was the greatest ever. Russell gets the nod from "championships are the only thing that matters" people

I've only seen them on ESPN Classic, NBA TV, etc so I'm obviously no expert. But when they played each other, Wilt would pretty much always have the better game

Russell had (3) 30 point, 30 rebound games. Wilt had 128.

I highly recommend the Book of Basketball if you haven’t already read it

there’s a whole chapter on Wilt v. Russell

it’s also not fair to compare their offensive numbers, as Russell wasn’t an offense-first player

As long as he was really good at one thing, then you can say he was versatile.

This one tough

After Googling, it seems that Wilt was a Warrior at one point in time, so that's good. But if he played like Westbrook, that's bad.

After going to the library and reading several books, it seems that Bill Russell won a lot more championships than Wilt, which is good. But his last name is the same first name as Westbrook's, so that's bad.

In the end, neither was as good as Lebron, who is better than Jordan, so let's all just agree that basketball is a sport of many contrasts.

I mean according to Windhorst, Lebron has been ravaged by injuries, so WTF. Give it to the GOAT already!

I just want some expert analysis from people who've stayed up since past their bedtimes when they were eight watching the NBA, or read actual books about NBA basketball to explain this whole thing to me. Is it possible to be a bandwagon fan of a player?

Aww Trree, there's plenty of fair weather fans out here. I mean the weather really is great, so you can't really blame us. Now that basketball season is over, I'm glad I can focus on the A's being over .500 and Jimmy G as a franchise QB for the 9ers.

Hand injury makes sense. He probably had his three worst shooting games after Game 1. He also seemed extremely reluctant to shoot anything outside of 15 feet.

So if they won Game 1...it not only would have made it a much more interesting series, but Lebron also wouldn't have injured his hand.

Who knows....

^^I'm not saying he didn't hurt his hand punching a wall, but it's pretty lame to hide it and then suddenly show up to the post game press conference after getting embarrassed in a 4 game sweep in a cast and then claim it's not why they lost. Shit like this is why I don't enjoy LeBron. He is a phenomenal basketball player, but he's a diva who loves drama.

Also, he definitely broke it because his buddy JR Smith is a goddamn idiot, not because of the block/charge call.

Ok, so in my drunken stupor fueled by the euphoria of another victory last night, I regret posting some of the things I did. Now that I’m sober, I’d just like to focus on facts and truth. Lebron James won ONE title for Cleveland in 11 seasons. He’s won 3 out of 9 Finals appearances, and lost 3 out of the past four to the same damn team that was deliberately designed to stop him. The argument and discussion about whether he’s the GOAT/King should be over, as far as I’m concerned. None of you people can ever convince me of your beliefs about him, based on what I have witnessed. But he’s still a lot of people's favorite player, and he’s given so many people joy over his entire career, so good for him and his fans. This season has been a fun and wild ride, and I’m looking forward to another crazy off-season. I hope he goes to the Lakers so the Ws have a better rival to compete with than the Cavs, which is an abysmal franchise that needs to be put out of its misery.

If you tell the other team you broke your hand...they're going to lay off you completely and beg you too shoot.

Not giving validity to his injury, just saying that it is completely legit not to disclose that while you still have games to play.

And please...don't feed E-Man/Ujustwait. If we ignore him...he might go away.

I definitely see the argument for it seeming lame. By the same token...if he comes out after game 1 or before game 2 and claims a hand injury I feel like you’re still gonna hear plenty of “oh here come the excuses for losing yet another finals”.

I also just remembered the arguing a few pages back about if Draymond really poked James in the eye or if he was flopping - and then LeBron played the rest of the series with a fucked up looking eye lol.

Given the way he acted after game 3 in his pressers, it was pretty obvious he knew it was over. I coukd laugh at the fact that he broke his own damn hand for being an idiot, but I won’t. In the end, the better team won, and years from now, few people will remember/care. They’ll just remember the Ws swept the Cavs and that KD was the best player in the series.
