Looking at wins in the top-30 power index:

Clemson best wins: Auburn (#15), VT (#13)
Clemson loss: Syracuse (#56)

ND best wins: Michigan State (#27), USC (#22), NC State (#23)
ND loss: Georgia

GT, BC, Wake, Louisville all in the 40-50 range, so Clemson has played a tougher schedule overall.

Clem vs BC: 34-7
ND @ BC: 49-20

Average Clemson game score: 34-13
Averages ND game score: 40-16

My say is they are just about even, they just have different strengths. I think our defense will do better against Clemson than it did ND, but I'm not super confident in our ability to put up points.

That being said, I went into this stretch thinking we would go 1-1, so I still think we win a close one.

Going to be interesting to see what Clemson does for their gameplan. If we continue to do the same thing over and over and get different results, we wil be blown out again, and it will be a sign of a critical coaching flaw.

We should not blitz vs clemson and we should not try to challenge press coverage with short throws. We did both of those things the entire notre dame game and they made us pay. We have done it all season but other teams didn't have the talent to make us pay and Florida State was too arrogant to change their style.

Think this one is going to get ugly. Feels like one of those games where we have no momentum going in and we just get rolled and Doeren will say that we let the ND loss cost us 2 games or some crap.

Question will be if our team can pick itself up after getting mashed 2 weeks in a row and win the last 3 games to finish 9-3 or if we just implode down the stretch.

^^i don't worry much about letting "ND beat us twice". we very well may lose this game - but with the way we lost last year to Clemson, i think we'll make this a big revenge game and be ready to play. plus with the division still on the line, there's really no excuse for not getting jacked up to play this game.

they lost @syracuse on a short week with their starting qb hurt. few teams have been as consistent and as dominant as clemson the last few years. i don't think clemsoning is really a thing anymore

^He was knocked out just before halftime. Cuse lead 17-14 at the end of the first half, but Bryant was the stater for a reason and I don't think its a stretch to say they probably would have won if he played the full game (full disclosure, I didn't watch Cuse-Clemson so I could be wrong).

I always thought "clemsoning" is only valid against non-top 25 opponents. So, the Syracuse game was a "clemsoning" but the game against Pitt last year and NC State this week (if we win) would not count.

i also would say that it's all about circumstances...like, when there's a chance to make a big statement win and they don't. or, say, a chance to win the division but lose to an inferior opponent. a "choke", if you will. they lost to pitt and still managed to win the national title. if that's a clemsoning then i wish we'd do some clemsoning.

but who the hell cares. it's a made up term like "nc state shit". it means nothing in reality.

we'll win this game by 10 imo. fuck it.
