My freshman english teacher taught me the following: The word 'except' has 2 'e's. The word accept has 1 'e'. The word 'verb' has 1 'e', therefore 'accept' is a verb.
I guess she ignored that the word 'preposition' also has 1 'e', but I didn't make that connection until well after high school. 12/4/2017 6:31:54 PM
