My parents met when they were very very young, less than 2 years old. Their fathers (my 2 grandfathers) played football together in high school in New York and ran into each other years later and restarted their friendship, and introduced their kids to each other, but my dad's family moved down to Charlotte when he was 7.

When my mom was in her early 20s she didn't know what to do with her life, so her parents said "why don't you go stay with our friends in North Carolina and try something new?" So my mom moved in with my dad's parents, then later moved in with my dad (if you know what I mean).

My dad had already been married and divorced. My mom's parents were guests at my dad's first wedding. My mom's father is also my dad's godfather.

Who else has fun stories?

My dad had just moved to North Carolina. His cousin is a raving lunatic who now runs a castle, but at the time I believe he ran a machine shop. That same lunatic cousin was banging my mom's roommate at the time.

The cousin wanted my dad to get laid, and he wanted my mom to start getting out of her apartment because her presence was a downer for all the fucking. Now, my cousin might be deranged, but he's not stupid, and you'd have to be pretty stupid not to put two and two together on this one. He invited them to a party way the hell out in the woods. Mom went home with dad. I think they started shacking up like a month after that. A few months later, mom's divorce from her short-lived first marriage was finalized. Three days later, they got married.
