At a Republican rally in Michigan featuring Mike Pence and some candidates, Pence wanted a Rabbi to open with a prayer in memory of those killed at the synagogue in Pittsburgh.

But instead he got a Messianic Jew, a Jew-for-Jesus, who made the prayer about Jesus as a savior and included a prayer for the Republican candidates to win. Not only are Jews-for-Jesus fake Jews, but this guy was a fake rabbi even by Messianic standards (their assembly had stripped him of his ordination).

Pence either had no one on his team run a background check OR intentionally picked this guy to misrepresent Judaism to the Republican party. No one has made any apology for it, including the actually Jewish republican candidate who was there to speak.

My thoughts are that Trump is setting Pence up for the fall. If Pence succeeds, then Trump claims a win for his administration and speaks about how it was the best response ever. If it fails, then it was Pence's fault and he barely knows the guy, well enough, but not too well. Then potentially uses it as an excuse to pick a new VP.
