hate to say its not that big of a surprise considering his retirement letter and all of the references to him in other peoples songs being about drugs.

The lyrics mesh so well with the emotion of the music. The sounds are so unique, they sound like they are from the future. The collabs are also unique. He basically had all of us listening to country and loving it. I never would have messed with Aloe Blacc if he wasn't on wake me up.

I know he's not in them and doesn't make them, but he had the best music videos and the stories match the emotions his music brings out.
