Does anyone listen to this awesome podcast I happen to be a host of?

My friend Jim and I take a topic that is either far outside our areas of expertise, too inane for general conversation, or both, then we spend 45 minutes to an hour hashing it out in one take with no edits.

My co-host is not a white dude. But yes, I feel we have successfully distilled the essence of many podcasts you are not listening to. Why listen to any of the hundred thousand others when you could just listen to ours and cover all your bases?

That's a tough one. In episode 34, we talk about what animal we think we could take in a fight if we were turned into that same animal. Jim suggests having sex with your opponent would be a viable tactic. I almost fell out of my chair.

In episode 25, we talked about lying quite a bit. I thought that was a pretty good one. Episode 24 right before it had a tangent about my perspective on opposites that irritates and upsets just about everyone.

We recently uploaded our 75th episode. I'm surprised we've kept it up for as long as we have, especially during the pandemic. I'm even more surprised that we've produced consistently. I think we were a day late with an episode once.

Of course, we still have maybe three regular listeners as far as I know. We don't get many emails. Maybe if you need a distraction from the hell we live in, you could try out a recent episode.

COVID finally forced us into an extended hiatus. I renewed the domain name, and the episodes are still up. We intend to return to it sometime, but I don't know what it will take for it to be a regular thing again. We were just talking the other day about doing a one-off episode, just something real short about one idiom maybe.

It's hard to want to do it. I've been isolating since March 2020. Haven't eaten at a restaurant, seen a movie in the theater, nothing like that since then. I've only seen my mother and my brother's family once, briefly, in all this time.

That means we don't have a lot of new experiences or even basic stimuli to spark discussion on the show. For me personally, it got to a point where bullshitting about parking annoyances and bathroom habits became a reminder that I really don't get to experience little banalities anymore. I think you can hear that in the later episodes. I sound down and angry a lot.
