Lol at everyone and their mother waiting for a United loss. All it took was paying the ref off with oil money. Maybe we should invest in refs instead of players like Sanchez.

not a bad idea. or just good players instead of players like Sanchez and Young. Either would work.

I didn't think they were that bad in the first half. Kinda fell apart in the second clearly. It's a lot to ask for at this point, but I wouldn't say they're dead yet.

Are you seriously going to sit here and deny that the referee had a direct impact on the scoreline yesterday? I am not saying we deserved to win, we didn't but PSG also had no business having Kimbembe on the pitch for 90 minutes, let alone when he scored the first goal. PSG was better in the second half, no doubt and tactically we got it wrong by giving them too much respect in the first 30 minutes but 2-0 is a flattering scoreline given the fact they were lucky not to be down to 10 after the first 40 minutes.

They used their experience and the referee to their advantage. Look forward to seeing how we bounce back. Not expecting anything from Stamford Bridge but I expect a big reaction against Liverpool and hopefully the players go to Paris with a nothing to lose attitude.

With CBs Fabinho and Matip, not super confident. At least VVD gets some extra rest for United.

Maybe Lovren will be ready tomorrow, not holding my breath. Would be a minor upgrade from Fabinho, probably.

With that United match looming this is a huge week for Liverpool. Beat Bayern and United and they're absolute cruising, but dropping points in either sets up a couple nail-biters. I'm gonna need a shower after pulling for United this weekend. Ughh.

Ole' machine back to full function after a lil midweek blip. Hoping it is just as functional on Sunday to end pool's title hopes. I do think if Pool win on Sunday there isn't much stopping them with a psychological edge in beating rivals away from home.

A draw in Germany gets you through, which is nice.

I only got to watch part of it on DVR, but it looked to me like Bayern didn't try and really get forward or open at all. Alaba and Kimmich barely overlapped and their midfield stayed back. They came to weather the storm in part it looked like.

This weekend is about to be huge. Burnley is actually on a nice run and they're going to be very tough away, I don't know why so many Spurs fans on the internet are acting like the points are in the bag. This is where Spurs usually fall flat.

I think one of the most important derby's since 08/09. Bit different a decade ago because it was Pool and United challenging and Pool actually won that at Old Trafford but then Arshavin happened.

Huge for United because it gives us a chance to play spoil sport but the pressure is all on Liverpool to come out to win this match. No Martial and Lingard will be a blow if they aren't fit and this is where I think our struggle is. With Lukaku and Sanchez we just aren't setup to counter like we want. We need to come out with the right attitude unlike the PSG game though. Our attack is hot right now and Paul Pogba holds the key in unlocking Liverpool.

Going to have to watch out for Salah and his diving but hope Young is smart about it too because Michael Oliver has a trigger finger when it comes to penos and cards. Frustrating that the last two refs for our matches have been absolute shit but hope Oliver has a good performance and the ref doesn't matter.

Nice one lads. No points refuted and just insulting. But yup I am the one not encouraging discussion and trolling. Lmao. Can't really expect much from pool fans I suppose.

I'm actually fine with that post!

The refs whining is a bit much, but I don't have a problem with a rival fan talking shit about a rival player.

Just surprised you even want Pogba and Martial to play, seems like you would want them to stay healthy to maximize their sale price this summer.

lol

I have complained about Pogba's and Martial's attitude a bunch on here and just because the team is playing better and they are becoming spearheads doesn't mean that their attitude can't change once a bad patch of form happens. Obviously I don't want them sold now but consistency is going to be key for both of them. Note how I have never questioned Rashford's or Jesse' attitude despite both of them not being as good technically.

Yup I am still salty about the ref from last week and all I am saying is that I hope Oliver doesn't make himself the center of attention. Didn't realize it was so egregious to want a fairly reffed match, especially when Oliver has given Pool some ungodly amount of penos (7 penos in the last 9 matches he has reffed for pool). Not saying they weren't deserved but I'd rather have a ref who will play on till the second half than pull out quick yellows and potentially ruin it for either team, not just United.

You know what, I'll make it two normal interactions in one day: after rereading, the "ref whining" is less egregious than first pass.

That said, "penos" is a vastly annoying abbreviation.

Hey, you win some you lose some.

that yellow card to Son was actually infuriating and I didn't even want yall to win. Oliver lets the crowd influence him too much in my opinion which I guess favors us a bit since we are at home. Don't want to wait till Sunday but I think it will be a fun match either way. We will at least get proper footy given that United plays much higher up the pitch now and Liverpool also need the 3 points.

Hats off to Periera and McTominay. Tough match and they stepped up big time. Liverpool were lucky I think with the injuries. Our best 11 scores today in my opinion. Lukaku stepped up too and played his heart out. Sanchez should resign if he has an ounce of morality. That man is a fraud.

I just don't get where the offense was. Nothing going forward. I think Pool were lucky to have a draw even WITH the injuries

I'd love to know if it was Klopp or management that decided we didn't need another defender in January

^ Defense wasn't the problem? I mean Milner was garbage but he wasn't garbage defensively, it was just for some reason we tried to go through him for every attack.

Mane. Salah, Firmino/Sturridge were completely invisible. Klopp bringing on Sturridge over Keita/Shaqiri is a massive head scratcher. And having to finish with Origi/Sturridge up top shows me we should've brought in an attacker not a defender. KLOOP OUTT

Nah not today, but in january/feb we dropped too many with a makeshift back 4. IMO.

I guess mostly vs LC

I feel like Liverpool's recent mediocrity is a combination of
1. everyone knows we're trying to counter-attack and/or play Salah/Firmino/Mane through - our attacking game is rather predictable
2. maybe the players are getting worn out from having to press constantly on defense
3. it's just getting stale
4. Keita sucks

I think the draw against Man U was a pretty fair result...either team could have won that one. I was expecting a close game, although it would have been nice to see you ripped up.

If Henderson and Milner are both in the starting lineup, the casual fan can go ahead and turn the game off.

I keep hearing this and I don't buy it one bit. Kind of hard to win when DDG might as well be asleep in goal. There was one shot on target and that was basically a pass to DDG from Sturridge. With a fit Martial, Rashford, Lingard and Herrera I think we win that game. Even with the injuries we had the better chances, not by much but enough to say we deserved to win.

Massive injury crisis for us though. Going to have to rely on the academy lads to step up big time. Palace away is not easy and to compound that no Martial, Herrera, Mata and Jesse is going to be a huge blow. Time for Lukaku, McTominay and Periera to step up again and make a case to be on the team next year. I guess Sanchez will play but honestly I'd rather see Chong be given the chance instead.

We had some decent opportunities that were just wasted, Matips header for example.

Liverpool had 1.8 non shot xG vs 0.8 for United, but had 0.4 shot based bs 0.5 for United. Sensible stats for a 0-0 draw.

^^ this isn't an excuse for Liverpool being shitty but the injuries affected how Liverpool could approach the game as well since Lukaku and a hurt Rashford were never going to stretch the game. No way United can defend like they did with the OGS attacking style of a full strength lineup.

Also TAA and Firmino were big injuries bc they're both so important for how Liverpool attacks the game.

no, you didn't - not even close. you resoundingly deserved to draw that game.

he occasionally performs semi-decently, but he gives the ball away too much and doesn't provide any obvious killer passes. he's one of those guys who likes to try to beat defenders or just hotdog on the ball instead of trying to pass into a scoring position.
