20 Kyrie Irving
24 Steph curry

I'm also not sure how diff sites Calc def WS, but basketball-reference has Harden at 1.7 (actually lowest of his career) and Klay at 1.4. Over last 7 years, Harden has 21.6 while Klay has 17.6. Harden defensive box plus/minus is 0.7, Klay -2.1. Harden defense rating is 111, Klay 112 (lower is better).

I mean if you’re bored, you can go back and look at the last few seasons (I stopped after the 2016-2017 season), but Klay is always ahead of Harden

Also worth noting: I never said Harden was a terrible defender; I just said he was bad and that Klay was better.

And since you’re all so in love with stats, feel free to look up both of their FG/3PT percentages numbers this seasons. Klay still wins

^Im sorry you don’t like the stats that literally come from the NBA, but they are what they are. Wanna talk about turnovers next?

[Edited on January 24, 2019 at 11:11 AM. Reason : Harden is still better than Klay bruh]

(i updated my post above)
Did you just post stats then shame me for using stats?

Also I already covered shooting percentage on the the last page
Quote :
" I'd like to point out that Klay has a game where he MADE 10 straight while Harden has a game where he MISSED 16 straight yet their 3 fg% this season is basically identical. Harden, of course, also shoots 5 more a game and has to create his own shot."

Harden also has a slightly higher eFG% this season.

^I think pretty much all advanced defensive stats have to taken with lots of other data. Analysts will straight up tell you it's hard to measure that. But yes, nba.com is not the first place I'd go for advanced stats

Wanna talk about steals next? Blocks? Rebounds? Assists? Assist/turnover ratio? Win shares? Defensive win shares? Defensive RPM? PER? True shooting %?

Shall I continue?

^well he had a true shooting percentage of 62.2%, which is right in line with his season average that is top 20 in the league.

^^he was a little off from 3 but was 12-18 from 2 and 22-25 from the stripe. True shooting percentage of 62% which is his season average, 18th in the league and way better than anyone close to his usage percentage ever.

I checked and the above statement is prob true, but they were also out of characters. Someone in the replies asked who was second and they responded.

Knicks getting fleeced

I know you pretty much have to move unhappy stars in the NBA for whatever you can get but this is gonna be crazy good for the Mavs with Doncic

Except they will immediately become the worst defensive team in the league. And they'll have to give KP a huge contract when he hasn't proven anything in the NBA. KP has yet to show he can be an efficient scores and has shown he is a sub par rebounder and awful defender. His ceiling is basically a poor man's Melo, but he hasn't been anywhere near that level yet.

The Knicks get an upgrade at guard and 2 expiring contracts for KP and some replacement level players. Without any other moves the Knicks now will be able to sign 2 max free agents this off-season. Clearly the winner of this trade depends on what the Knicks do this off-season and who they draft in the lottery. They are in all out tank mode right now.

[Edited on January 31, 2019 at 4:32 PM. Reason : Porzingis is probably the most overhyped player in the league]

Update: NYK also get 2 future #1's

I think this hurts the Lakers. If I'm the pelicans no way do I take a trade for AD that doesn't include at least 3 of Ingram/Kuzma/Ball/Hart and 3 #1's. Also still no way in hell I'd trade him before the off-season.

On paper, I think the Mavs win this trade. But, both teams are basically taking a bet here.

The Mavs are obviously betting on KP - one, that he isn't fucked from the injury. Two, that he will actually develop into a force. If he can pair well with Doncic, they could be a playoff team with a couple of role players.

The Knicks are better on the picks + DSJ (sort of - I don't think they're hitching their wagon to him too much) + a big get this summer. KD is what people are talking about, but it could be anyone - they're going to have a lot of cap space. I'm guessing that Wes won't even play a game for them and DJ is on his way out anyway.

HWAT?

KP was averaging 22 a game on near 40% 3pt shooting before he got injured. His defense is good, borderline great around the rim. The guy is a stud. You are basically doing the opposite of the white ball player cliches that describe them as gym rats/scrappy/sneaky athletic. Now if you want to talk about his injury risk, fine. That's a real thing. To describe his CEILING as a poor man's Melo is insane.

The ONLY way the knicks salvage this trade is if they snag two premiere free agents in the offseason--KD and Kyrie. More likely they end overpaying a couple of second tier guys in true Knicksian fashion and become a perpetual 6-10 seed in the east.

There is absolutely no world where the lakers give up 3 of those dudes and 3 #1s. Maybe 3 dudes and a #1. The only leverage the pelicans have is pitting the lakers offer up against the celtics if they wait until the summer or against a potential celtics offer or a sixers offer if they do it now. AD has screwed them by 1) publicly announcing he is leaving and 2) telling the league he will only sign for a contender. That narrows it down to only a handful of teams.

Their best case scenario might be for Walker to bail honestly. They're not gonna do shit with or without him in the next 5 years, so they might as well tank again.

^^ The best strategy for them is probably trying to acquire Zion in the summer draft, but they may then trade him out like what they did to Kobe before. Also Zion may not be satisfied staying near his hometown (like Jordan?), as he rejected Clemson last yr. Who knows? If he really is the next Lebron, he should proof himself by winning a championship for Charlotte.
