I think In theory it would be a charge, but it's pretty hard to not jack knife when you get hit in the air, so it's hard to call.

If you go straight up in a cylinder around your body, that space is yours and no one defense or offense can take that away, its a foul. Right to space. So yes, if you jump up, and the offensive player is out of control, you can draw a charge while in the air. Player control foul.

Officiating was suspect second half. Need to make more FTs, if Clemson had made theirs they would have won.

Having Bryce and MJ back is great, but the lack of depth at guard really shows when we have to brind Braxton in. I don't buy that his back is still hurting him given the amount of practice time/shots he put up this week, Its a poor excuse.

Good for DJ getting his first double double. Gonna need him to play like that every game from here on out and hope Manny is back quickly, same for Andree3k, hopefully his shot heals along with his leg. He left in a boot and crutches.

Glad we got the win!! We were looking good at the end of the 1st half and I thought we might run away with it but then the 2nd half happened and both teams looked pretty bad.

I think we might play better without Bates. The idea of playing him is defense, but our defense still sucks because it's a fundamentally flawed scheme, so you may as well just play your best offensive player instead.

I love when people assume that if we don't have their preferred players, we'll just play the good players the whole game! When in reality it just means sub minutes have to go to even worse and/or more fatigued players.

we don't *have to* give the minutes to someone else. If Keatts is going to keep his job, he will eventually start to realize sometimes you have to make game-specific adjustments and do things you don't normally do in order to have the best chance to win.

If you don't play so aggressive defensively, you don't give up as many fouls and you don't get as fatigued either. I'm not saying this is the game to do that, I"m just saying it should always be an option. I'd love to see us sit back and play tight zone sometimes.

Even if Bates is healthy, Funderburk needs to play as many minutes as possible.

Despite the fact that they play different positions, Andree is a noticably worse defender than Dixon. And he's currently bringing less than nothing to the offense (he airballed 2 open threes against Clemson, had another blocked and missed another fucking layup.) Dixon is a solid low post defender, and while he has very limited offensive value, he doesn't force shots and waste possessions. If he can grab some rebounds, keep the opposing center from getting easy looks and eat up a few/5 fouls that would otherwise go on Funderburk, that's a plus.

It is definitely crazy to say we'll play better without Bates. It is not crazy to say we will be just as good without Andree.

This comment can immediately be turned around, but not sure Dixon has played enough to judge hid D. I do now he was fine against ND, but got 3 fouls in 4 minutes vs Miami and picked up a rare 6 trillion vs Clemson.

Also the "same position" thing is silly, he's been getting more minutes vs ND and Mia at the expense of Andree. When you have limited depth, positions don't matter as much a just getting someone on the floor to give people a breather. Funderburk can play with either of them. (aside from the back that they're basically the same size)


Lol vs high majors, when Andree makes 3 or more 3's, we are 0-4. We are much better when he misses!!

Here's the thing, Dixon is always playing the 5, Andree is never playing the 5. I think Dixon getting more minutes has a lot of factors, the biggest being Keatts seeing that Bates + Funderburk works well and neither is getting in terrible foul trouble, so they can continue to play together. That means Dixon is going to play more to spell Bates, simply because Funderburk isn't going to play 40 minutes. Dixon has played well enough in short relief stints. He's never going to carry the team, and no one is going to ask him to. Any points he provides are a bonus.

Hellems and Funderburk are the guys actually taking the minutes at the 4, and they're the guys who need to be playing there. They actually play defense. Both of them can guard almost anyone on the floor. Andree can't guard anyone on the floor. That's why he's been relegated to the bench for the majority of the 2nd half in many games and it has nothing to do with Dixon. Now that his shot isn't even close to falling, there's no reason for him to see major minutes.
