Dude, just buy what you like to drink. Otherwise, have the basics on hand. If you don't know what you like, don't stock up on crap just because you feel like you should. 4/11/2019 8:39:17 AM

Usually keep some rum, whiskey, and gin on hand. Usually nothing particularly fancy...just some pretty average stuff. My wife and I (and our friends that come over) are more of a beer and wine crowd. My wife likes gin, so we’ll always have that. I prefer rum or whiskey so I’ll usually have one of those...but again, pretty basic stuff like Jack Daniels or something, nothing high end. 4/11/2019 11:21:29 AM

Really going to depend on what kind of drinks you want to make. In general this is what I keep on hand:
Rum: -Santa Teresa 1796 (favorite sipping rum) -Plantation 3 Star -Mount Gay Black Barrel -Plantation 5 Year Aged -Mount Gay Silver -Pusser's Navy Rum -Goslings 151 Overproof
Brandy & Cognac: -Remy Martin 1738 -E&J XO -E&J VS
Gin: -Brooklyn Small Batch -New Amsterdam
Whiskey: -Four Roses Small Batch -Bulleit Bourbon -Slow & Low -Various other whiskeys that I buy as one offs for drinking neat. I keep Four Roses and Bulleit around for mixing usually.
Tequila: -Espolon Blanco -Espolon Reposado
Absinthe: -Jade
I keep a half dozen or so different bitters on hand.
And then the main thing I stock a lot of that provides me opportunities for mixing are the amaros, liqueurs, and syrups:
-Amaro Montenegro -Ramazotti Amaro -Campari -Aperol -Falernum -Giffard Banane du Bresil -Giffard Pamplemousse -Triple Sec -Chartreuse -Luxardo Maraschino -Allspice Dram -Coconut Cream -Caramelized Fig Syrup -Passionfruit Syrup -Demerara Syrup -Simple Syrup -Fiery Ginger Syrup -Pineapple Gum Syrup -Real Grenadine -Orgeat 4/12/2019 1:01:07 PM

I'm thinking I'll start stocking up on bitters. Going to take the classes at Crude Bitters downtown to see what's the deal with it. 4/12/2019 2:06:44 PM

If you have any interest in syrups that are actually fresh and good quality, I use Liber & Co. out of Austin. 4/12/2019 3:31:31 PM
