This was just ok. First half or so I thought was actually really really good, but overall it was way too long, and started going downhill once Arnold showed up. The last 2 big action set pieces were pretty dumb too.

The plot is very very simple, just a bunch of jerks teaming up to fight against a lethal robot. Very intense actions and stunts, but lack of innovation and some new concepts to be called sci-fi movie. Two old fighters and a young fighter protected a girl to be killed. It's the idea having been used since the second one, which is about 30 years ago already. It's like a robotic fast & furious series now. Overall it’s just a badass movie.

at least the 2nd and 3rd one went into the leadup to skynet. i feel like this was all action no thinking.

This was just okay...
The "message" and empowerment was just too heavy handed and lacked any sort of tact or subtlety. The new Halloween accomplished the same goals much, much better.

The hwy chasing and fighting scene is still epic tho. It could be listed onto top 5 scenes of the whole series imo.

I thought it kinda sucked that they got rid of Skynet as the big bad villain just to replace it with a different villain that is pretty much the same thing.

this movie was really disappointing to me. i agree that it jumped blindly into action without any sort of character development or reason why I should care about these characters now placed into a very dangerous situation. the film also offered absolutely nothing new and casually erased rise of the machines without any good explanation.
