This can maybe be an "all things ACC Network" thread in the future, but this post is about the early struggles we'll have to actually watch the channel.

Quote :
"@brookecain As of right now, the ACC Network will not be on @Ask_Spectrum or @Uverse or DISH"

Quote :
"@jwgiglio Basically if you have Cable, you're not getting the ACC Network.

Any streaming subscription (Hulu, YouTube, PlayStation) will have it, tho.

And, there's not an OTT option, so you can't just subscribe to the ACC Network (a la HBO)"

Spectrum posted this link to allow "requests", not sure how valuable this is but it's quick and easy
Quote :
"At this time we do not carry this network and do not have any information on if/when we will carry it. You can request this network and countless others via this link https://t.co/v6a7ZbEZjR ^SS"

I’ve had sling in the past. Wonder if they’ll carry it? Otherwise I may try Hulu.

It looks like it will be on DirecTV so I'm good. I'd like cut the "cord" but Sunday Ticket has me stuck. In the last month of my contract so time to call and negotiate a better deal.

I find it insane that DirecTV has it but not uverse, since they're both owned by AT&T.

Yeah general consensus I've heard about it is that once it gets established and can get more major support it'll be good but for the first years it'll be a bit of a boon on watching lower-ranked ACC games

I don't think there's been a conference game that didn't include Clemson that was not "lower ranked" in probably 4 seasons since FSU was decent in Winston's last year or whenever that was.

Can't you buy/stream that on it's own tho?

^I think so but I believe you can only have one session of a stream at a time. I like to set up multiple TVs and have multiple games on at the same time. 3 or 4 in the living room, 3 in the garage.

welp, won't be watching ACCN then. Just canceled with DTV and refuse to pay for another subscription service for now (other thanPrime).

"As of today, the network — a partnership between the ACC and ESPN — has contracts with DirecTV and Google Fiber TV (of the providers available to local viewers). There is no deal in place with Charter’s Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable), AT&T U-verse, DISH Network or Comcast. Spectrum is the largest cable provider in the state.

For those with streaming services, there is a deal with Hulu Live TV (note that this is not the same as regular Hulu) and PlayStation Vue. There is no deal in place with Sling, YouTube TV or Fubo."

Will games no longer be viewable on theacc.com or watchespn.com?

Don't think there is any new info in that quote other than Google fiber. And Giglio said YouTube will have it, would have to confirm i guess.

^^ there's no need to be defensive

The info is different on the streaming services than what Giglio said

yeah i was mainly referring to the distinction between:

and

my guess is no to theacc.com. and i would assume it depends on your cable provider for watchespn. if spectrum doesn't carry accnetwork and you get your watchespn through spectrum, then i don't think you'd have access to it. i dunno.

The other key change is if you like to watch any of the Olympic sports teams, you'll also now need a carrier that carries ACC Network to watch the digital-only games.

Meh. So far I've seen times/networks announced for 4 of our games, and only 1 of them is scheduled to be on the ACCN(ECU).

Would love to see exactly how many of our games will be on the ACCN and know whether or not it's worth trying to get.

But it will prob be more of a problem for bball season. Pretty much every early game and some acc game were on watchespn in the past

Our second game is digital only on ACCNX -- which means you'll have to have a carrier that has ACCN to watch it.

Official NC State page says it'll be on RSN(Regional Sports Network) so it should be on local cable.

WCU - RSN
WVU - FS1
Cuse - ESPN
GT - ESPN

So best case you get is 8 NC State games on the ACCN but I feel like at least a few of our other games will get picked up by other networks.

Whoops sorry was going off the top of my head. Must have gotten confused with another team. Well either way, if we have a game there (which is possible with that Ball State game, I suppose), it'll be like that

Moved from DirecTV Now (well, ATTNow) to YouTube TV. Basically the same price now, and YTTV has a lot more sports options & of course ACC Network. Had to sideload the YTTV app to my Fire TV, but it was easy to do.
