Since I have ridiculous amounts of dead time I need something to keep me sane until I can find another job, which itself is never going to happen, but I digress.
Commence with the dumbass ideas. And a few good ones, please. 8/12/2019 1:31:24 PM |

The Modern C++ Challenge. It won't make you an expert as the cover suggests, but it does have a list of problems you can play around with.

^^ You got that up on the app store yet?
^ Thanks! Looks interesting. I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't used C++ in ages, so something that'll force me to refresh is nice. 8/13/2019 8:05:14 AM |

nah you can have the idea
actually i got another little project that's been on my backlog that I can delegate to you too
I typically braindump random todos into a spreadsheet so I don't forget them. But once I have like 10-20+ things in the spreadsheet, it's kindof annoying to prioritize them. I try to dump them into buckets (today, this week, this month, someday) but I find I don't do a good job reprioritizing items once they're in a bucket.
So what I'd like to be able to do, is copy/paste a (new line delimited) list of tasks into a web page, and it starts showing me 2 random items at a time next to each other and I press either left or right arrow to indicate which one is higher priority. and it keeps showing 2 random items until it has enough relative priorities to properly sort the list. do it all client side too, no page refreshes. the point is for this to be a quick rapid fire process.

Does it have to be usable for your company or any project?
@qntmfred, have you tried org-mode? https://youtu.be/fgizHHd7nOo 8/13/2019 1:35:44 PM |

^ i've seen it mentioned from time to time on HN, twitter, etc but I've never tried to adopt it. I don't live in a terminal enough these days for that to end up being a sticky enough workflow (I tried https://jrnl.sh a while back and reached the same conclusion).
Is there a feature in org-mode (didn't watch that whole youtube video lol) that does the relative prioritization approach? I could see myself jumping into the terminal every now and then for this kind of quicksorting exercise 8/13/2019 1:46:49 PM |
