Didn’t see a thread. Help me with my 3 keepers - next to each name is the round they would be drafted in, 12 team ppr.
Watson - 8th Nick Chubb - 6th Vance McDonald - 10th Anthony Miller - 12th Gus Edwards - 10th Mitch Trubisky - 10th Gerald Everett - 10th Blount - 10th McKinnon - 7th 8/20/2019 11:50:01 PM |

^^Would help if we knew a little bit about the league setup. Is it 2QB or Super-flex? Is it PPR? 8/21/2019 9:31:38 AM |

I'd probably just take the first three. McDonald ADP is like 90s so you're gaining about 3 rounds there.
***
So I get to keep any 3 regardless of round, no PPR. My team was shit last year, so I'm keeping OBJ and Mark Ingram. My 3rd should probably be Phillip Lindsay, but with the #1 pick I'll have somebody like Marlon Mack, Damien Williams, Devonta Freeman OR Mike Williams, AB, TY Hilton, Stefon Diggs OR Zach Ertz. Obviously I shouldn't take my 3rd RB when we only start 2, right? Am I over-thinking this? Just take AB? There should probably be some consideration for being my future keeper too, which Mike Williams is 6 years younger than AB and doesn't have these off-season problems (and a better QB) 8/21/2019 1:09:56 PM |

Pretty standard league, 1QB, Rb/te/wr flex.
Agreed on Watson and Chubb.
3 keepers does stink. In our league your keeper is taken in a spot 2 places higher than where they were drafted, can only be kept 2 straight years, and an undrafted player is counted as a 10th road pick as a keeper. Creates a lot of strategy but also a few teams are loaded just by some lucky late round picks. 8/21/2019 9:55:33 PM |

i'm drafting 5 in a 0.5 PPR. barkley, cmc, and kamara will definitely be gone by the time i pick. i'd take hopkins at 5 in a heartbeat, but if he's gone...i feel like everybody else has tons of question marks after those 4 guys. zeke and gordon holding out, gurley scares me after his usage tapered off so much last year, leveon bell didn't even play last year. i wouldn't be super pumped about david johnson.
unless zeke or gordon sign by the time of my draft...would i be dumb for the rolling the dice with Bell at 5? 8/22/2019 6:32:08 AM |

I think Johnson at 5 isn't bad. Still got a ton of touches last year. They should be able to create a bit more space for him this year. 8/22/2019 1:13:40 PM |

Unless Arizona is just slow-playing their offense or hiding something, that offense looks AWFUL.
That being said, if you're playing in a PPR you should absolutely consider DJ and give him a bump. That 1st unit OL has looked atrocious and their scheme was getting blown up in the 2nd game. Murray had no time and was constantly dumping off for short passes and the RBs were having to make guys miss to gain yards. Still not convinced the Air Raid is going to work in the NFL, esp not when you have a garbage OL and refuse to use TEs to help block. 8/22/2019 2:48:20 PM |

If you can believe Kyler and Klingsbury, they have been purposely keeping their playbook vanilla in the preseason and will open it up during the season.
If that's the case, DJ could have good value. But I've been burned by DJ the last couple of years so I'm avoiding him 8/22/2019 4:47:15 PM |

I think that is very much the case. There is absolutely no incentive for them to run anything in the preseason. All that does is give other teams game film on a new offense.8/22/2019 5:10:30 PM |

Every team runs vanilla offense, but not every team is installing a "new to the NFL" offense.
I have no idea if they'll be successful this year, but I know it's completely ridiculous to assume they'll be bad because they were bad last year and are bad in the preseason when they have a new offense and a new QB.
And even though Johnson had a down year last year, he still had almost 1500 total yards and 10 TDs on that abysmal offense. It would be a tough decision for me between him and Bell if those were who I was picking between. I don't think Bell will duplicate the success he had in Pittsburgh.] 8/22/2019 8:56:21 PM |

Kingsbury had one of the most prolific offenses in college football
him going 5-7 last year has absolutely nothing to do with them playing a vanilla offense in the preseason

I am skeptical of Kingsbury being successful in the NFL. Plenty of college coaches have tried to implement their systems on Sundays, and being successful has been the exception not the rule. So I tend to be a little hesitant to draft Arizona offensive players around their ADP. 8/22/2019 9:49:24 PM |

I think the problem is, this isn't some novel offense that no one has seen before. There is a TON of film on it from college and Kliff is banking on being a "one-off" type system(like GT with the triple-option) that teams won't be prepared for it or won't practice against it regularly. That works at the college level, but that isn't going to fly in the NFL.
A system where you use 5 OL and rarely leave in a TE to help block or a RB to chip defenders...that's a recipe for getting your QB hurt. DEs are too good in this league for your OT to be on an island and stop them, even in quick drops and roll outs. Murray is a great athlete but I'm not sure this experiment is going to work.
Have we ever seen a mediocre college coach move to the NFL and be successful? Chip Kelly was pushing for titles with his offense, Pete Carroll was winning titles, Kliff didn't even make a bowl game. Then factor in that the Cardinals don't exactly have the most talented team, I'm just hesitant to spend a high pick on any Cardinal right now.8/23/2019 7:56:17 AM |

I'm torn on this trade offered to me. Let me know what you think. 12 team PPR.
I give: Russell Wilson
I get: Baker Mayfield & Melvin Gordon
Already have Ekeler and Josh Allen on my roster. Love the potential upside/insurance of Gordon, but not keen on having an Allen/Mayfield QB rotation. I suppose I could drop Mayfield for another QB like Brissett, but that's no guarantee during the waivers process. 9/24/2019 7:44:39 AM |
eleusis All American 24527 Posts user info edit post |
would you give Russell Wilson for Melvin Gordon knowing for certain he won't be back the next 3 weeks, but may be back by week 7? As much as they needed him the last three weeks, their next three opponents are winless. If they manage to drop one of those games, they might get a deal done knowing they have to win the next three against the Titans, Bears, and Packers, who all have solid run defense.
If you're not in a 2QB league, I would take that offer and be willing to stream QBs. There are plenty of suspect secondaries to select matchups with this year. 9/24/2019 4:39:21 PM |
justinh524 Sprots Talk Mod 28015 Posts user info edit post |
I wouldn't expect Gordon to report until week 8 at the earliest. Also wouldn't expect him to get much PT his first few games back. If the Chargers aren't in the playoff race at that point I would say he would wait until the last possible minute - week 10 - to show up.
At this point I wouldn't make that trade unless they improve the QB offered for him or throw in like a switch of WRs that favors you. But every week that goes by, Gordon's trade value goes up since it's one less week he's getting zero points. I think he could be a valuable piece for fantasy playoffs seeing as how he'll be fresh late in the season.] 9/24/2019 4:46:58 PM |

No, keep Russ
No point getting a RB that might not even play unless you drafted Gordon, leave him alone.
Russ will get passing and running points, he always starts off slow, interesting how fast he has scored good fantasy numbers this year.
Baker has no upside, even with OBD, keep Ekeler, he will score lots.
I'd keep RW, get a RB elsewhere via waivers if you need one.

Injuries have been killing me this year. I've got/had Barkley, Gallup, Hunter Henry, AB, all drafted high or at positions without a lot of depth on my roster.

I think there's no chance AB plays again this season. Even if a team signs him, the league will put him on the commissioners exempt list until they're done investigating all his shit. And he made it even worse for himself with his tweets after getting cut by the Patriots. Drop him. 9/25/2019 12:37:49 PM |
