Did you pet him first?

That would have probably made it feel better.

My first petting of the dog was at the animal shelter. He licked my hand.... No doubt this is when he realized I had bones inside of me.

Should this dog still go go heaven?

Probably, yes. Though it should be quarantined to the dog-only section of heaven, supervised by Balto.

Were you asking for it? What were you wearing? Have you ever smoked pot?

I'm not going to say the dog is racist. What I will say is that I have never seen the dog bite a white person. I will also say that racist white people would support this dog biting me.

I was not asking for it. I was wearing khaki colored shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops. Pot is for losers

Why you got a dog out at the beach or the pool?

Too hot for all that.

You must have done something. Were you a bully in grade school?

Far from it.

Both forearms. 2 - 3 puncture wounds in each arm, and other various gashes.

Meh. I adopted him because he seemed like he would get along with my dog. He was young enough to still have energy, but old enough to be house broken and not need 24/7 attention. The dogs played well together.

At the shelter, it was listed as a boxer/hound mix. Though, who the F really knows when it comes to muts. This was him:

Yes, I went to the ER so they could take a look. They cleaned me up. The Dr. didn't want to give me stitches because if there was bacteria in my arm from the bite, the sutures would make it more difficult for my body to push it out. They prescribed me with some anti-biotics and some extra strength motrin, and sent me on my way.

He had been in my house for about 45 minutes. I had the animal shelter send an officer to come and get him when I was waiting in the ER.

Prior to adoption, the shelter described him as:
-friendly dog
-good with kids
-good with other dogs
-can be standoffish with strangers
-belonged to an old woman with 2 others dogs. The old woman had to give the dog up on doctor's orders.

After the bite, the shelter said:
-sorry to hear that happened to you
-i bet the dog was just scared
-the dog has to be quarantined for 10 days to see if it develops rabies (dog had a rabies certificate )
- 2 days later, the shelter called to say the lab test came back and the dog doesn't have rabies

Wife and I were chilling on the couch. New doggo was roaming around exploring his new home. He came downstairs, explored some more, and then marked his territory on a plant in the corner (this dog is supposed to be house trained, mind you). I "yell out NO! Bad dog!". The dog runs upstairs, and I follow. When I catch him, i grab him by the harness he is wearing and lead him back downstairs to show him his pee spot and then let him out. Everything is fine until we get to the living room and the dog sees his pee spot that we're heading towards. He then flips out and bites me.

I didn't take any pics when it happened. I was busy throwing the dog outside on the back deck, convincing myself not to murder the animal, and trying not to bleed all over everything.

Yes, it's true. The lab tests have confirmed that I am now a WEREMCE!

Sorry to hear that, man. Shelters are so rough on animals. They basically have adrenaline coursing through their systems 24/7, and it can take a while for them to clear it out.

Your reaction is normal for the situation. Hopefully you give it another try with a different dog.

yeah, I was gonna say that rescue dogs can be very tricky. It takes them a while to settle down to their actual selves, and I would normally not recommend any type of harsh physical contact until after they have become acclimated to their new surroundings.

This same exact thing happened to my sister when she rescued a golden.

There's an old saying in Tennessee...I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again!
