Maybe because it's a horrible and unethical company that profits on the monetization of human suffering?

Maybe because AAPL is significantly denting their ad revenue?

yeah, i sold my FB a while back for many of the above reasons.

I was a reluctant investor to start with; I didn't like them, but want to make those dollars. I had some of those concerns grow more and more. The catalyst to bring it to the front of my mind and act on it was the last time those fuckers suspended my FB account over some silly bullshit.

I'm cautiously swing trading small positions of internet monies but mostly sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy the dip in equities. Bring on the correction!

Also, Thank you synapse for bringing the thread back.

Agreed. If they hadn't bought Instagram and Whatsapp I probably would have sold off as well.

I mean....if +237.13% growth in 1 month and +26,441,136.31% growth in one year isn't a wave, then I don't know what is.

^^Yeah, that helps, but it's immensely possible to become conventionally wealthy (not mega-rich) in a relatively short period of time without that and without taking undue speculative risks. I hope people in this thread are either the consistently luckiest folks on earth, or are only playing around with a small portion of their assets. Of course if people only invested in VTI or VT, I guess it would be a pretty short and boring thread.

Yeah, almost reminds me of the blackjack player who always wins. TSLA is really the only risky thing that has paid off for me. The other non mutual funds are just tech or blue chips.

Problem is that if youre lucky long enough, a small portion becomes a large or majority portion

Well, that's not really much of a problem unless you come to believe this luck is due to some unique skill on your part and use this belief to justify ever larger speculative bets. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in this position, it's a good idea to occasionally de-risk.

https://cryptotrader.tax/blog/crypto-wash-sale-rule

Hope everyone had a profitable year trading in 2021. Don't forget that the wash sale rule doesn't apply to digital assets. Anyone wanting to offset 2021 capital gains using this method should do so before EOD tomorrow.

Happy New Year all!

I just looked over my long term investments and just realized I have a big lot that started as nvidia @ $5

It’s in a taxable account so that’s gonna be a big bill whenever I sell
