I’m not a big Star Wars guy, but that looks pretty awesome. Theres also all the Marvel shows coming, and all the movies and stuff, so this will be a new subscription for me. We already pay for hulu with commercials, so I’ll probably go for the bundle deal with Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ that’s like $12.99.

Finally saw the trailer. It looks great. I can't wait.

I haven't pre-ordered Disney+ yet. I would at the yearly rate as it is discounted, but since I already have Hulu, I'm going to wait until 11/12 so I can get the bundle.

i was going to wait and get the bundle or try to see if they offer the 3 year discount plan again, but then i learned that if you have a Verizon unlimited plan, which my wife does, you get a year for free. so i wont need to order for a while.

I'm thinking they're gonna bring him back/reprogram him. He was in several of the posters for it, so I don't think he's going away so soon. I kinda liked him, but then again, it's a trope now...a major character with a droid sidekick. But a trope I don't mind at all.

I hope he's back, and I don't mind the trope. What I do mind is "ugh, droids," but then doesn't use said droid's self-destruct capabilities as a tactical advantage when given the opportunity.

This show is beautiful cinematography, does right what all the movies since Phantom Menace have done wrong, but the relationships between Mando and each character he meets doesn't feel earned. For example, Nick Nolte's character saves Mando, and then offers to help him with the bounty right away, no questions. Shouldn't it have been Mando is the savior, and the help is offered in return?

^^Nolte recognized him as a bounty hunter, knew what he was after, and helped him because he wants to get the bounty out of the area so it would be peaceful again. His offer to help was selfish in nature.

Thought it was awesome. Looking forward to the rest. I really enjoyed the fight alongside the bounty hunter droid. I wonder if the Mandalorian planned to destroy the droid the whole time or just after he found out the droid was gonna shoot the target instead of capturing alive?

I’m not sure how the spoiler changes what you thought about the timeline, unless you are confused about the identity of the spoiler.

Either way, this is not about Boba, just another Mandalorian

Boba Fett, as I understand it, was of the Mandalorian tribe. Not the same guy in this show. It seems as if all of their armor is similar in nature.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know/is it documented what happened to all of the clones after the clone wars? I mean, when the war was over, did these clones go on to raise families? I wonder how the tribe handled this? Since they're clones of Boba, technically they're all Mandalorians.

Mandalorian is a nationality/culture, not a race. Boba and the Republic troopers were all clones of Jango, but the troopers weren’t raised in mandalorian culture so I don’t know if they could be considered such.

Also the clones are probabaly either dead or really old. They age twice as fast as normal humans.

because the person in the ball was 50 years old in the show, but hundreds of years old in the movies and boba fett isn't that old (as far as I know)

that's when i was confused and had to google to realize it wasn't about boba fett, i had assumed this was his origin story

I was right, you are confused about the identity of what was in the ball. It is not who you think.

The target of the bounty is just a random alien that happens to be the same species of the person you are thinking about.

This show is visually stunning. But the story is soooooo slow. Huge reveal cliffhanger at the end of the first episode, then a bunch of schlepping around in the second. Maybe the interaction with the Jawas was "character building," but they haven't shown any reason to think he would need that in order to move forward. So it felt like a waste of time.

It's character development. It isn't going to be nonstop action the entire series. On top of that, the second episode was only like 27 mins long.

One thing they have really shown is that he isn't a typical silent badass with no feelings or code of ethics like Boba Fett has been portrayed in the past. He was genuinely grateful for that short alien guy helping him get his ship parts back and fixing it up. He got his ass kicked by that rhino thing in the mud and it almost killed him, so despite being "the best", he doesn't have a plan for everything. When the short guy took him to meet the Jawas, he could have legit killed every single last one of them and just taken his stuff back but he didn't.

It's a spaghetti western.

Which was based on Kurosawa samurai stuff.

Which was based on American westerns.

Snake keeps eating its tail.

I don't care about action. I love character-driven stories. I just don't like time fillers. Unless I missed something, we didn't learn anything new about the character in episode 2 nor did his situation change in any kind of way. It just felt static after the first episode set up so much.

we learned that they're not going to treat him as invincible, we learned that a certain someone is capable of a certain something now, as opposed to possibly now or sometime in the future

But more importantly, this

If you don't enjoy these movies there's a good chance you might not enjoy this, especially as it relates to your problems with episode 2

We learned, from his interaction with Nick Nolte, that he's not the unfeeling, unspeaking bounty hunter that was Boba Fett. He genuinely wanted to than Nick Nolte, even by bringing him on as his shipmate. We learned that there's a good chance this is taking place on Tatooine, based on the Jawas.

Based on the fact that there's been no mention of a Yoda-like species in the sequel trilogy, my bet goes to a surprise ending where Mando actually turns baby Yoda over to Werner Herzog, and he's handed over to the scientist, and what this scientist finds help power the rise of the First Order.

Although an accurate assessment, it's odd that there is so much action in the Star Wars universe on a planet that is mostly sand and rocks.

I guess it's possible that it isn't Tatooine. Jawa biology may have just evolved in a desert environment so they just prefer to live on desert planets in general, which admittedly would all look very similar.

I liked it a lot but like others have said, not gonna pay for Disney+ to get it.

I also don't think it feels like a western. If you take out the music, it feels like basically any other Star Wars.
