welcome to the 2019-20 college basketball season. many of the great players you remember from last year have gone on to the NBA or other pursuits (Zion Williamson, for example). however, there are many good players still in college (Luke Maye [citation needed]).

did you know that John Beilein left Michigan for the Cleveland Cavs? at one time i knew it happened, but i forgot about it until just now. i know Buzz Williams left VT but i couldn't remember where he went - turns out it was Texas A&M. who did VT hire to replace Buzz? i dunno, i'm not gonna bother looking that up. some guy named Mike Young. i've never heard of him. one final fun fact is that Tubby Smith is still coaching. he's in his second season at High Point. that may be common knowledge, but i did not know that (or more likely, had forgotten it).

the season starts tomorrow, by the way. markell johnson should wreck a lot of dudes this year.

Imagine having so much disrespect for Howard that you don't think Michigan is a top 25 team. I still have a lot more teams to watch but Michigan is the most complete team I've seen thus far.

I haven't seen anything so impressive from anyone else besides Kansas. UNC, Arizona, Oregon, Duke, UVA, MSU, Gonzaga all seem to have major holes offensively this year and lack outside shooting from multiple guys.

I also think this is could end up as most parity theres ever been in a college basketball season. I think it will be the year the tournament seeds are thrown upside down.

I know UVA’s O has been ass this year. But I’m watching them vs SCar right now and holy shit. They look completely inept offensively. 10+ turnovers in the first half already. SCar is hitting some tough shots against their D, but offense is a reeeeal struggle for UVa.

I realize UNC has had more important guys miss more time than we have (I’m assuming). And Cole Anthony is really good, so his injury is very significant to them. But we’ve had the following guys miss time due to injury: Markell, Hellems, Bryce, Bates, Andree, Dixon (I know he’s an end of the bench guy but I’ll count him), AJ Taylor (again, he wouldn’t be a regular. But still). And that doesn’t include Seabron being redshirted/ineligible/whatever his situation is and Funderburk missing time with a suspension.

Im not sure what point I’m trying to make. UNC’s injury issues have been significant. But it’s not like they’re the only team working with a depleted roster. Fuck UNC. Fuck Roy. I still never really landed on a real purpose to this post and I don’t care.

There seems to be very little separation between all ACC teams. The difference between the top teams and bottom teams seems to only be ability to finish laser close games. I feel like Louisville, FSU, and Duke are all overrated and anyone could win the ACCT.

I was wrong, nothing in there about clashing personalities with Gaudio but there is this:
