Starting to watch the first ep. Heard mixed things.

Already super noticeable that mostly only main characters have daemons

This show is a big disappointment so far. Odd pacing. It'll cover too much ground too fast then spend 15 minutes showing Lyra hide. I don't think this one is turning it around. Doesn't seem to know who the audience is (adults - tweens?)

Finally watching the first episode and I can't say I'm impressed. Lots of things I don't like, but the top is the casting of Lyra.

This feels more like a syfy channel show than hbo

Never read the books, but enjoying the show for the most part.

Will agree, the least likeable character on the whole show is Lyra, but I just can't put my finger on why that is.

Always find it amusing when some of the biggest names associated with the show are more like cameo characters or characters that don't get involved until halfway through the season. Will be curious to see how much screen time James McAvoy and Lin-Manuel Miranda actually get in the first season.

From what I've read, Miranda may be the biggest miscasting of the show (which is saying alot bc much of the casting is strange). I assume they've rewritten his character quite a bit.

I just saw something about a 3rd season premiere, I didn't realize there was a season 2!
