I just got a message saying flash will be "disabled by default" after December. Does this mean I will have to turn it back on or does it mean I won't be able to use it at all? Is there no workaround?
I'm finding multiple answers all over the internet. Some say no flash will work on any device after the death date. Some are saying you won't be able to use it on certain browsers and some are saying its just no longer "supported".
I'm having all of my students download it now and am keeping a copy of the install file but am wondering if that will be rendered useless by this upcoming "kill switch". 12/20/2019 11:10:31 AM |

According to this (https://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-flash-update/) Adobe is going to "stop updating and distributing" Flash. So it sounds like you just won't be able to download it from their site anymore. I would assume the browsers wouldn't make any change. Chrome already disables it by default with an option to turn it back on. I don't see any mention of a change on Chrome despite this article that mentions the Adobe change: https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7084871?hl=en 12/27/2019 9:22:47 PM |

Several industries and businesses have been built around Flash technology – including gaming, education and video – and we remain committed to supporting Flash through 2020, as customers and partners put their migration plans into place. Adobe will continue to support Flash on a number of major OSs and browsers that currently support Flash content through the planned EOL. This will include issuing regular security patches, maintaining OS and browser compatibility and adding features and capabilities as needed." | ]1/11/2020 11:50:42 AM |

Thanks
It seems the most important flash applets I use have all been switched over to html5 which is great because flash had compatibility/security issues with Mac all along. You'd be surprised how many 18-20 year olds have no idea how to work MACos finder, security settings, or anything outside of web browsers and media apps.

This website is an electronic version of a math textbook and uses Flash. I suppose it will stop working after 2020.
I don't know if the publisher will update the site or not, but is there any way to download the book from the site, other than taking 800+ screenshots?
If someone can do it somehow, please let me know.
Thanks. 12/15/2020 12:02:04 PM |
