Let's all be best friends again, like the good ol' days!

What are you working on today? I'm catching up on a lot of paperwork and teaching parents of students how to use the internet-based programs.

Probably the usual over the last few weeks, 6+ hours of virus talk and questions and an hour or so on actual work.

3rd day of WFH and I hate it. Way too distracting for me. And I can't stand to be in front of a PC/laptop all day, as I usually have equipment to fix/maintain & travel to various nearby sites for routine work to break up a normal day.

WFH has been ok for me. This virus upended a big client meeting scheduled for this week, and threatens to do the same for another client event in April.
Other than those, all of meetings can be held virtually. It's been kind of nice getting up, getting some food, and then going to the home office for the day. I get to see my wife, and the dogs. Don't have to fight traffic. Often I'll end up working 10 or 11 hours instead of my normal 9, just because I don't have to worry about getting home to let the dogs out. The house is well stocked, so lunch is right upstairs.

Just don't get divorced, guys and gals.

I have been working at home all of Feb and first week of March. Wife working from home as well, and daughter also at home as schools closed.

Not very productive and efficient as we have a small place (and yeah, we were having more arguments I would say), so for the past week or so I have been coming in to my office. So much better!

Third day of working from home has been fine for me. We are quite busy and running our professional school course curriculum online all through Zoom. Some challenges and a bit of a learning curve on how to do things differently from home, but overall its going well.

Nah but I would tell them to put their fucking clothes on. Had an indecent exposure incident yesterday for a class at lunch time. Student didn't mean to turn their camera on but it accidentally did. It was recorded. Recording processing is taking a long time though due to the amount of traffic Zoom is getting now.

So, good point.... For so long, ISPs have told us that Netflix uses too much bandwidth, etc. We are currently on day 3 of people working from home, using Netflix, playing Xbox, etc... Non-stop to alleviate boredom and earn a living. The world hasn't ended yet...

Day 3 of working from home for me too. Hasn't really slowed down my workload at all honestly -- most of our meetings involve coworkers that live on the west coast so we already had telecon stuff set up. Now it is just us dialing in from home instead of a conference room.

Although yesterday my cat got tired of my "not giving her attention" shit. Jumped up to my chair, tried to lay down in my hoodie, got pissed off and howled into my mic, then jumped down and knocked over my space heater before running away. Meanwhile the dog just stayed curled up sleeping. He's been enjoying getting a walk during lunch.

My wife has a compromised immune system -- if she catches this virus there is a significantly higher probability that she will die from it than your average person, so I gotta be real careful and not go anywhere public until this whole thing blows over.

Working from home with a 6 year old and a 15 month old. I work from home anyway, so the change isn't too upending for me, however having the children here....it isn't easy.

Day 1 was fine. I feel like I got done what I needed to get done and what could reasonably be done today. My worry when school resumes is I'll still have to make up instruction because, obviously, anything I do virtually is no substitute for in person instruction. But trying to let all that go because I can't control it and it's small potatoes compared to staying safe and healthy right now. Also trying to keep away the panic. Been fighting that all day.

I am in engineering sales so I always work from home when I'm not on the road. If anyone has questions about ways to stay focused I'm happy to help!

The downside to doing this all the time is that nothing at all changes, except the fun stuff like going to lunch meetings and networking events. Now I'm spending time updating and creating new presentations

Gotta go in to work tomorrow because of two old faculty members who can't be bothered/refuse to figure out how to use a laptop. These are the same people most at risk of poor outcomes due to COVID 19, but what do I know.

I'm working from home and loving it, because my company has a dumb double standard about remote work. The genie is out of the bottle now. I'm doing my part to prove it works, because I want to continue doing it.

I'm convinced that's why our old managers oppose WFH so much. They are afraid of the masses figuring out how little of their work actually requires them to be on-site and the implications. Our younger managers are all on-board.

Well, it went fine for the first couple of days. Thank God we just bought a house - if this had happened a month ago, my wife and I would both be working from the same one bedroom apartment, and we'd be at each others throats.

At first things were alright because I was working out of the basement office, but yesterday I came up from lunch, then went back to "work" to find that the water heater had rusted through and flooded the basement. So the rest of my workday got cancelled as I frantically bailed out my office.

I usually telework once a week anyway, and the parts of my work that don't involve travel are overwhelmingly based on calls or e-mails, so it's not a major inconvenience in a work sense. That said, I'm a social animal and I like my coworkers, so the isolation is getting to me. We may sink to the level of a "video happy hour" with some friends tomorrow.

Went to work today and saw three people. There was never any reason for me to be there. Didn't mind the change of scenery but I honestly didn't get as much done there as at home.

I'm WFH and loving it. A friend of mine also started a newsletter to provide entertainment during this time and so far it's been pretty awesome. Link's below if anyone's interested. If not, well I'll just go fuck myself haha.

Tomorrow will be 1 week working from home. So far not so bad, though my job basically requires I'm in the office for about an hour each day. I'm only 10 minutes away so it's not so bad, plus I have my own office so I don't need to breach social distancing. Hoping if this goes well my team can leverage this into our normal work schedules.

Me: *in my dark basement office trying to get to the bottom of an end-of-project issue that has been giving me an ulcer for a month, playing phone tag with 10 people so that everyone is on the same page*

coworker, on the phone: *sounds of wind blowing and children laughing in the background*

Me: wait.........are you playing outside with your kids?

coworker: yeah, I should probably just call you back tomorrow
