The peak time to join was 2000-2006. If you were at state during these times and came straight out of high school you'd be born anywhere between 1978 (NCSU class of 2000) - 1988 (NCSU class of 2010) which covers the ages of current ages of 32-42.

I joined in 2005 prior to starting grad school so I'm just now in my later 30s but was 21 at the time.

So to answer OP's question it seems very likely that there are people under 40 years old on this site.
