I have some oak boards I bought from Home Depot and am looking for advice/steps to finish them, for outdoor use.
I bought a can of Behr Transparent Waterproofing Wood Finish. Sounds like I can just throw 2-3 coats of that on them and call it a day? Should I use a brush/foam thing or try an air sprayer? Any prep needed? Any other products I should consider using? 4/24/2020 10:33:44 AM

OH , I'VE STAINED SOME WOOD, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
wait. that could be taken in multiple ways. scratch that.
I, too, would like some tips. I suck at staining wood. I typically do a light sanding and use a rag or brush. The foam tends to break / tear easily and holds too much stain for my liking. 4/25/2020 11:04:46 AM

I'm using a wipe on poly on raw oak that I washed in soap and water first.
So far so good.
Do you have to sand btw each coat or just b4 the last? 4/25/2020 7:59:18 PM
