Why not.Wife and I have started a new pandemic tradition for Friday: takeout from an ethnic restaurant + a movie from the country of origin for the food. The idea came to us when we watched a Bollywood picture after eating a Peruvian meal that, while tasty and filling, did nothing to stop our brains from craving Indian food about ten minutes in.To that end, so far this year we've got:Sholay (India) 8/10A Taxi Driver (Korea) 10/10Rome Open City (Italy) 7/10Springtime in a Small Town (China) 5/10Bwakaw (Philippines) 7/10Bangkok Traffic Love Story (Thailand) 6/10Motorcycle Diaries (Peru) 7/10The Wedding Party (Nigeria) 8/10The Perfect Dictatorship (Mexico) 7/10Tampopo (Japan) 9/10Golden Kingdom (Myanmar) 7/10Clearly we live in an area with a fairly diverse food scene but eventually we're going to start recycling countries.

Get some Jamaican, jerk, and watch The Harder They Come. And Parasite when you're ready to recycle S. Korean.

We saw Parasite last year. I think we're likely to cheat and watch Minari for the next Korean one (although there are several actual Korean films I do still want to see)Thanks for the tip on The Harder they Come, the Jamaican place near us is one of our favorites and it's coming up soon.
