Made more than 25 offers since mid March. Most** 10-15%, a few 20% above listing. 20% down, range 350k-425k. Nothing but rejections. So depressed I go share on TWW.
**1 or 2 waived all contingencies.

I've had a few friends lately who looked for houses and eventually succeeded. A friend of mine moved just down the street after closing last week, in fact. But they've all said it was tough out there. I don't envy you. Good luck. 5/13/2021 7:19:39 AM

I was house hunting last winter. After a couple months of fighting the craziness of the market, I ended up writing letters to about 20 houses that I liked, asking if they were considering selling, or knew anyone else who was thinking of selling.
I got 2 replies from people who hadn't put their house on the market, but were planning on doing so. We ended up closing on a house (before it was listed!) in March, but since they hadn't planned on listing their place yet, their new house won't be ready for them until this fall, so we're renting out the house to them for now. 5/13/2021 10:01:32 AM

I sold my rental property in Charlotte in January. Got 15 offers on the first day, most of them were all cash offers and above asking price. there's a lot of investment groups buying up all the inventory. great for sellers, horrible for buyers and the housing market generally ![](images/frown.gif) 5/13/2021 10:42:26 AM
