Things just seem too contrived/forced this season. Still good for a few good laughs per episode, and I still enjoy watching, but overall this season has definitely felt like a step down

Yes it was portrayed as a slur, but understanding that something is a slur somewhere else and getting that angry about it just -- not plausible. It doesn't have years of offensive use like it does here, and has a completely separate meaning that everyone England associates with it first. The equivalent offensive word in England would probably be "poofta" or "poof".

If the show were flip-flopped and it was an American fan yelling at an American Football player and called him a "fuckin poof" (and said player knew that is what bigots say in England), do you think he'd get as angry in that situation as if he'd been called a "fuckin fag"?

Even if that word is the same slur there is no way a pro athlete where that word has probably been uttered tons in practices or games throughout his time coming up. Also Isaac is not gay and I don't think he had accepted Colins status so there is no way he would have snapped.

I agree this season has just been an overall let down but the bar was so high and just like a lot of shows its hard to maintain that level. It still has a few laughs an episode but overall the quality is way down from Season 1.

The older couple I'm least sure about but I think they broke the 4th wall during the rom Com ep. Not sure why all these characters needed callbacks.

They def did not. If this many people had no idea who they were, they clearly didn't have enough of an impact outside of their brief appearances in one episode a year ago.

So... were all of the flashforwards just dreams in Ted's head while he was asleep on the plane or are we to believe that they really happened? The Stonehenge marriage leads me to believe they were all Ted's hopes for the future.

If you have to do an AMA to clear up the final sequence then that means you may have missed the mark.

The last 2 episodes really brought it back to the first 2 seasons. Wondering if Brendan Hunt would agree to a spinoff minus Jason Sudekis? There are several directions they could go, though I think it would lose the charm it had and become just another ensemble dramedy.

I just started this show (haven’t had Apple TV for long) and I love it. I kept waiting for there to be some catch for him being so nice. And the catch never came. He’s honestly a good person. I haven’t enjoyed an entire cast of characters like this since Frazier.

I think my daughter would love this show, I wish they didn’t have the language and some of the themes they had, otherwise she’d be watching it.
