I’m watching this show on Netflix and I instantly realized the people were Korean, and not Japanese. I think I can tell the different between Koreans and Japanese people now, feels amazing.

But I don’t exactly know how I knew, I just knew

I doubt most Koreans or Japanese would be able to tell the difference between Americans, Australians, Brits or Canadians (maybe some would if they heard them talk).

I can tell apart Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese by their speech with 100% certainty. By face a good 75% of the time. By face, Koreans and Japanese are a lot more similar than Chinese are to either of them. And yeah, written Korean looks very different than Chinese or Japanese -- a lot of circles/loops in Korean characters, but almost none in the other two.

I think being able to confidently discriminate from amongst superficially similar regional phenotypes is the opposite of rases.

i.e. "They [DON'T] all look the same!"
