My gut tells me it's going to be a rough, rough next two years, but I also was pretty pessimistic during the 2018 midterms and things went a bit better than expected. Early voting seems to favor Dems, but it's probably cancelled out by the rampant gerrymandering/voter suppression.

I think the House absolutely flips and the Senate stays the same at 50/50.

Ted Budd has been in Congress since 2017, but this is the year he finally does something about inflation if he's re-elected

Any chance there's so much bad news, cynicism, and reservation baked into the prevailing narrative that there's room for an upside surprise?

The French Revolution only executed 16,000 people. Weimar took about 10 years to get literally Hitler. We don't have eggs that cost $1,000,000 a dozen yet. We've had violence but there is no credible opposition to USG. Aside from some rednecks getting rowdy and shot by Federal police there shouldn't be much to worry about for another decade.

All bets are off if Putin declares Elon dictator. I then retract my above statements.

if dems are poised to lose the senate, it is probably best for a runoff to happen in georgia

yeah. polls show though that while people want a republican senate, they tend to not want a republican in their state this election.
so if they take the majority, people will be more inclined to vote warnock and less inclined to vote herschel

Essentially, people want a more republican senate in general, (culture wars, whatever, idc), but most do not want their particular state to be the one giving those republican seats, which indicates that the republican candidates specifically are in a way subpar to the standards of voters. so while they like the idea of a republican controlled senate, they don't particularly like their republican candidate
as per some polls done

now, if the republicans win the senate and we go into a runoff, since people have already seen that the republicans have the senate, going with the above theory, they are less incentivized to vote against warnock cause the senate is already republican and with warnock being elected not disturbing that majority, would be less irked by it, and less likely to vote for budd, since theyre not particularly fond of him in the first place, it is mostly about that republican majority, by which this point is already there

damn
as per chuck todd, 83% of the vote that's been counted so far has been mail in
so if the in person votes are as republican as predicted, beasly's screwed

Florida is trash. I've been consistent on that point. Unless you're Obama, Florida always goes red. Pretending otherwise is just leading the audience on.

The positive takeaway is Jeff Jackson won
