I think the forest service needs to do a controlled burn of the woods along the 540/Capital Blvd on-ramps to clear out the bum camps. There are literally acres of woods covered in bum garbage and shopping carts...it looks like a fucking landfill and has gotten particularly bad over the past couple of months.

The entire stretch of Capital between 440 and 540 has never been great but has noticeably declined over the past years. Not uncommon to see vagrants, drug addicts, street walking prostitutes, etc. Multiple homicides at the various long term rental hotels close to 440.

Fucking hilarious to me that the developer of Broadstone Oak City apartments is attempting to brand this area as "Raleigh's East Midtown." This area is unsafe.

Update: To the surprise of absolutely no one, the 540/Capital bum camp is back in business. Shopping carts and bum garbage are already re-accumulating. Hopefully the powers that be wise up and napalm that whole area to make it inhospitable to the bum population. Another option would be to infest it with millions of fire ants. Thoughts?
