Not much room for error in games like this. And we’ve made a couple. Running into punter. DPI (most recent one, not the first weak one), goofy ass playcalling with first goal to go situation.

Also this is why you take a shot before half. Maybe we wouldn’t have scored. Probably wouldn’t have. But gotta swing.

We have no offensive balance. We either run the ball way too often to a fault. Or we completely abandon it and wind up in 3rd and 10. I know Clemson’s D is good and play calling is hard. But there’s just no balance.

I’ll preface by saying that Clemson is obviously really good and football is harder when you play really good teams. But for us to be so pass happy (31 pass attempts, 13 RB runs, and 6 runs from Leary, mostly designed pass plays) we don’t stretch the field. We had one long completion to Carter on the first drive. Otherwise it’s all short stuff. Second half pass protection hasn’t been great, so I understand trying to get rid of the ball quickly. But are our outside WRs bad at getting open? Is it playcalling? Feels like if you’re gonna pass 75% of the time you’d take a few more shots or have something deep or just moderately downfield.

31 pass attempts and 139 yards is just gross.
