4 fouls in 30 seconds on UNC after they went 10+ mins with no fouls. Jesus Christ. Way to even it up

^ good shit. Clearly not why we lost the game but it is totally laughable that a team can go 14 mins without being called for a foul. Thats a joke. College basketball refs are really inconsistent and often times bad.

Oh yeah it definitely was not the reason we lost (we can't shoot) but it's just classic UNC bullshit.

Glad we kept it close til the end but our shooting was awful. This is a little concerning, 2 out of 3 games with terrible shooting.

This is a rough shot chart, but sadly not all that atypical for Keatts teams (the spacing, not the shooting %). No good teams take as many midrange shots as we do in the modern game.

Tbh I'm more concerned about the misses in the paint. Shots at the basket aren't that valuable if yours only converting 20%.

All those missed layups wasn't the least bit concerning

TBH the coaches should have told those guys to hit their open shots instead of miss them

We shot bad enough that we aren't winning that game even we didn't take any low perecentage shots. But when you have shitty shot selection, you increase your odds of having "bad shooting days". And shot selection is a much easier fix than team shooting percentage.

For example, if Middlesborough takes another fucking three pointer this season, then he and Ross can hand out towels together.

Middlebrooks, Diarra and O'Connell all need to be benched next time they shoot a 3.

But last night really wasn't about shot selection. We missed like 20 wide open threes. Those and the missed shots in the paint were the difference in the game.

Honestly it's a credit to the defense and team rebounding that we didn't lose by 30.

Agreed, it was quite amazing how close we kept it for so long with how terribly we were shooting and how many bunnies we missed.

If Morsell, Parker, Horne (a combined 0/11 on 3) just went 3/11 then it’s a totally different game. Before last night those 3 were a combined 38.2% from 3. They had open looks. They missed them. Middlebrooks shouldn’t shoot 3s. Nor should Mo. Rice is better when attacking than settling for a 3. All of that is true. But sometimes you’re just ice cold, even your best players. That was kinda the case last night.

UNC played good D I thought. Horne is kinda small so he wasn’t able to finish in the paint last night, especially in a physical game where he wasn’t getting to the line on some of those drives. His shot wasn’t falling and he couldn’t effectively drive. The glaring thing last night was that this team doesn’t have a T or Joiner that can just go get a bucket when we need it. Horne is our closest thing to it, but he’s not at that level really. Sometimes that’s not a bad thing because scoring is so balanced on this team. But we don’t really have anybody that can just take over either. Their guards were better than ours. Even on a night when RJ Davis wasn’t lights out and struggled at times (especially early) he still hit some 3s and came up with big buckets. Our guards couldn’t.
