Apparently the NC State Park Service is going to spend $50 million of your tax dollars on a huge project to rehab Jockey's Ridge. The NC powers that be wanted to turn the big boring pile of sand into something snazzy like Mt. Rushmore so they are going to convert Jockey's Ridge into the world's largest sand castle modeled after Hogwarts (complete with a working moat). Earthwork is expected to start in late-2025 so please expect delays when traveling to this area.

The state is going to annex the Wright Bros memorial back from the feds so they can bulldoze everything (it’s a massive waste of land anyway)…that land will be put to good use by building an Elmer’s Glue factory since it’ll require millions of gallons of glue to bond together the life-size Hogwarts sandcastle replica
