bitlocker... what's weird is that it randomly prompted me for this before on the same laptop, and I was able to find the key on my microsoft account. but now it doesn't show up? I don't recall whether I used my personal one or a school one, but it isnt on either
I never enabled it myself, afaik it was on by default. is it that since I used it once, I needed to do something to make it work again??
Either way, I should've just noted it down physically when I had the chance. I will probably figure this out, but damn 11/16/2024 10:38:55 AM |

I reckon that bitlocker got enabled when I signed in with the school email onto some microsoft software or something? cause I have the feeling that the last time I successfully recovered, I was trying to do something obvious and it wasn't working, and then suddenly i figured out where it could be logged into, and found it.
But it isn't even showing up as an option for that now, like it just reloads to the home settings screen 11/16/2024 10:48:37 AM |

I had a fear I may have forgotten my password but I simply lost the drive so I don't have that worry any longer 11/16/2024 12:40:15 PM |

The key is a 48-digit numeric value. Keep trying numbers and I'm sure you will guess it eventually!
I remember the first time this happened to me on a work laptop. I thought there was no way that key was legitimate and was going to work, but it did. I wrote it down on paper and stored it in my phone for future access. No repeats since then, though. The prompt seems to have been related to the docking station. 11/16/2024 5:15:54 PM |
