Name of course : College Student Development and Peer Counseling
Description : Developmental issues of young adulthood with opportunity for the acquisition of paraprofessional counseling skills and crisis intervention skills. Major consideration is given to self-awareness and values clarification through utilization of personality inventories and self-assessment instruments.
Prerequisites : Sophomore standing. Priority will be given to resident advisors and students active in student organizations or volunteer programs

course comments :Course is taught by a combination of RD's, RLC's, or other Housing staff, not by Jennifer Wilder. Very easy class; depending on who teaches your section, can either be very interactive and fun or very boring and dull. I got lucky and picked a good section. The class is required for RA's, and is basically assumed that you are an RA if you are taking it. Teaches a lot of common sense info, but maybe you'd get something out of it.

instructor comments :My teachers for the course were Barry Olson, Eddie Lovett, and Erica Renfrow; I'd recommend all three, and they worked well as a group.

class comments :Not bad for a class on student development theory and diversity. Lots of group interaction. Nothing too hard. There are three papers, but I wrote them all in like 3 hours each the night before they were due.
