course :NE 409
course rating :3 - Good
course comments :Nuclear materials is a fairly easy class in comparison to other classes. Not much more difficult than regular materials. Good elective if you're looking for something to pass.
class :Spring 2006 section 001
grade received :N/A
class rating :2 - Average
class comments :The lectures are extremely dry. He basically goes over the book and printable notes, and occasionally does an example. Pop quizzes at least once a week usually. Group homework assignments aren't too hard. Tests aren't too bad either.
instructor :Murty
instructor rating :2 - Average
instructor comments :Very dry and quiet. Friendly guy though, and smart, but I wouldn't want to have him again. He'll answer any of your questions in and out of class.

course :NE 409L
course rating :1 - Bad
course comments :The lab for Materials is new as of Spring 2006. It's very hands-off, and needs a lot of tweaking to be worth a credit.
class :Spring 2006 section 201
grade received :N/A
class rating :2 - Average
class comments :You don't do much at all. Watch the TAs set things up, take turns participating in some non-invasive way, and take data. Lab reports are much shorter and graded easier.
instructor :Murty
instructor rating :3 - Good
instructor comments :A post-doc and a grad student taught the lab. Good guys, very helpful, and graded easy.
