Galbraith named New OC

Marty Galbraith, the Offensive Line coach for this past year's team, has been named new Offensive Coordinator. He has worked under the likes of Steve Spurrier, John Mackovic, Paul Hackett, Bill Dooley, and most recently Norm Chow. Galbraith will take the place of Norm Chow, who has accepted the same position at Southern Cal. Galbraith directed a fine Marshall offense quarterbacked by Chad Pennington before coming to NC State. Hopefully he can carry over the mastery of Norm Chow for several years to come. Galbraith will continue to be the Offensive Line Coach as he coordinates Philip Rivers and the Wolfpack offense.

Good to have it settled so they can go ahead and work on the system in spring practice. I'll be looking for the new offense in the spring game.

I wouldn't expect to see too much of a new offense. Galbraith will basically be using the offense Norm Chow put in place, but with less tendency to abandon the running game.

they're promating someone from within with full expectation that the offense will basically remain the same

But we have to recognize that we do NOT have Chow back, so it is reasonable to believe that it will not be exactly the same.

I think it's safe to say that even if Chow was coming back, the offense would be at least a little different.

Much of the offense this past season revolved around trick plays that allowed the team to compensate for a relative lack of talent. As better recruiting makes up for this, the offensive schemes will stabilize somewhat.

I agree with Bart. The offense will change a little bit, but MC was OC at Marshall whose offense wasn't too shabby!

Yeah Galbraith will put his on stamp on the offense, while trying to run a similar system. He worked under Chow for 1 year, its not like he has been this guys pupil for years or anything.

also, ALL of the coachs had input to the OFFENSE last year so its not just CHOWs doing!

anyone been out the C-F since the took down the scoreboard and ticket office? It already looks different. I to cannot wait until September when Philip and LeVar take it to the ACC.

It could be a whole different kind of season though. Norm Chow was the man when it came to OCs, and without Koren things are gonna be a whole lot harder. Let's hope that the soph year for Amato doesn't turn out as bad as Benjamin's did for the Pack a few years ago.
