Anybody else going?
The last feature exhibit I've been to was the Rodin one a few years back. 10/24/2006 12:43:09 PM |

^Thanks-- I've been working to be able to make this exhibit affordable to college students. It is such an awesome exhibit-- I'm proud NC can offer something like this. 10/25/2006 12:04:17 PM |

no^ I really wish we were though. I'm going to try on Monday and try to convince my supervisors into maybe doing it another Friday night like in November before exams or in January??? since it was raining last Friday night and not a lot of folks from UNC got to come.
Did anyone catch the band? 10/28/2006 3:21:18 PM |

It was a jazz trio from the Durham School of the Arts. Originally we had thought about making "college night" more of an event with a reception and food but my supervisors decided just to cut the price to $5 and have it more laid back-- come and go event. Which works out great, but someone with the band didnt get the cancellation memo so they came anyways and since they wanted to play we just set them up in the gallery--- I was wondering if it was good or not.

It was a "one night only" admission fee of $5 for college students, all other times are $12 for students 10/31/2006 8:34:06 AM |

Yeah, it's crazy the admission is $12, it's only $12 to get into MOMA in NYC as a student! 11/1/2006 1:09:56 AM |

^well not *that* crazy... the show is underpriced as it is for general admission.
We're talking about 50 world renown art pieces by Claude Monet, some of which are privately own and never on public display.... $12 is good, $5 was incredible. 11/1/2006 8:50:30 AM |

I agree that it is worth $12 to see Monet's paintings, I guess what I am trying to say is that I have seen more of them for much less at other museums, and it is sad that the NC museum of Art is so underfunded that it needs to charge students so much. Oh art and money, how sad that the two things have become so closely related. 11/1/2006 10:53:58 AM |
