Hodge is a Mickey D's AA

StateFans.com is reporting that Julius Hodge has been selected to play in the McDonald's All-American game. The game will be played on March 28 in Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Fellow Wolfpack recruits Jordan Collins, Josh Powell, and Levi Watkins did not make the initial squad. However, DeMatha High coach Morgan Wooten has the authority to name up to four additional members to the squad. Collins, a center, would seem to have the inside track if any State recruits are added because he plays for Wooten at DeMatha.

Hodge's selection marks three straight years that the Pack has had a player in the showcase game. Damien Wilkins played in the 1999 event and Scooter Sherrill played in 2000.

I have learned that Herb Sendek will squander Julius Hodge's ability to ball, and will turn him into just another shitty player.

I know, right? I expect Hodge to play 3 minutes a game just like Scooter, and then we'll hear transfer rumors after his freshman year.

Just like he gave DWilk only 3 minutes a game too, right? Wilk is the last person to be as highly touted as Hodge and he played like crazy. Maybe if Scooter could handle the damn ball and play some off the ball d he would play more.

That is quite true about Scooter. He always bobbles the ball a couple times a game and he notoriously is caught overplaying on defense (that is if he is in the correct position to begin with).

Did anyone watch last year's mcd's AA game? Well Scooter was clearly not deserving of his spot. Don't get me wrong, Scoot can play, but he needs ball handling work and a little tune-up on d.

i think we need less Mickey D's AA because they seem to crumble under the pressure of having to save our damn program from mediocrity. I think its important to have some time under the belt unless they are some fab freshman like kareem rush for mizzou... so give em a bit of time on the court, but if they don't have the fundamentals, let em watch and grow.
