Change of Ownership

TWW Users,

The time has finally come to let you know that Jake, CrazyJ, will no longer be running the day to day operations of TWW. He transferred the site to us back in March.

We own a bunch of other college sites like TWW and have a history of doing it well. We are college students like Jake was when he first started TWW. He trusted us that we are committed to running TWW in the same way that he has in the past. We have assured him that we will not make any changes that will change the overall user experiece of TWW as you know it. The TWW that you have grown to love is here to stay for the long haul. Jake told us that he would not have sold it to us if our plan was to make major changes to TWW that he thought would be bad for the site. We fully intend to honor this trust.

He told us that he has mixed emotions about not being involved in the day to day operations anymore. He is happy that TWW is now in the hands of people who can make sure that it survives and that can devote more time to making TWW a great place. He also told us that he is also sad that he will no longer be directly involved in every decision of the site that he built and nurtured since he was an undergrad.

As we said earlier, under the guidance of Jake, we have been running the site since March. Our plan is to stay out of the way, manage the servers and let the you enjoy TWW like you have in the past. The current moderators will stay on to continue doing the great job that they have in the past.

Finally, Jake told us that he would like to thank the loyal TWW users who have helped him make TWW into the best NC State student community on the web! Check out the thread in The Lounge to ask us questions; we will try to answer them all. We look forward to running TWW in the same way Jake has in the past!

Just thought id respond to some of the posts:

The popups should never have made it on the site and should never be back. If they are, send me a PM and I will get rid of them as soon as I can.

We will not make any changes to the site unless the community asks for them. If there are any improvements that you want, make a thread in FF and we will check them out.

And no, I'm not Zuckerberg (although it would be pretty cool)

i think anyone with half a brain can deduce they didn't break the photo gallery on purpose

a completely custom coded application like tww is complicated as hell. you'd think someone who works in IT would be aware of that. he's learning the system as fast as he can.

it was only broken for a few days anyway.

Haha, I know he probably is learning, but don't brag about running a lot of other college sites and then not pay attention to this one when a major feature goes down. This is almost as bad as the message board itself going down, and should have had a fairly high priority. As somebody in an IT dept. I know how to prioritize and keep critical components online.
