The NCSU women’s soccer team made history Thursday night, defeating the #1 ranked lady Tar heels of UNC, 2-1. This was State’s first ever win against Carolina, and the tar heels first loss to an ACC opponent in almost two years.
Its amazing class of senior leaders helped guide the Wolfpack to victory, including goalkeeper Gretchen Lear. Lear tied a school and ACC record with 19 saves in the match. Junior forward Lindsey Underwood scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute off an assist from teammate Adrienne Barnes. Barnes scored the first goal for the Pack, in the second minute of play.

Be sure to congratulate all the members of the NCSU women’s soccer team for all of their hard work, and an awesome win. Show your support by attending the remaining games on the Pack’s schedule, and help cheer the team to victory. Go Pack!!
