Our last tournament (in January) had 60 people. Pretty good chance to win! Hope to see you there.

If it were something other than Texas hold-em you'd get more people.

No offense, but the last one was not a "tournament" per se... winners were awarded $10 gift certificates from each table. I assume the idea is to run this as a multi-table tournament and balance/combine the tables at some point - this takes some planning or else it'll be very difficult to coordinate at any level that will be fair to people, much less finish in a desirable amount of time...if you need help, please feel free to PM or IM (JonTurner18) me with a phone number and someone to get in contact with... I've run tournaments this big before - no big deal, but you definitely need a very different structure than there was last time.

Thanks for the offer to help. I know the last tournament was not exactly "tournament style." It was our first attempt at a Poker Night, and we have learned a lot since then. This time, there will be 2 table consolidations (after the 1st 60 min and after the 2nd 60 min of play - final round - 90 min). The overall winner after the last 90 min. round will be awarded the $100 gift certificate. Also, everyone will be playing with the same color/value chips in order to consolidate tables fairly. If you want more details, please contact me...bcnielse@ncsu.edu. And, I will most likely contact you because you seem like you could lend us some good advice. Thanks!

this really is going to be a tournament style poker night, with table winners moving on to higher tables until there is one overall winner, etc.

Thank you SO MUCH for all 91 of you who came out to Poker Night tonight. We truly appreciate your support for the NC Children's Hospital and the NCSU organization - Dance Marathon.

We plan on having a poker night every month next year. Also, at future poker nights there will be prizes for the 8 people who make it to the winner's table, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. (We only had one grand prize today because funds were low).

So ... keep your eye out for poker nights next semester, and thank you once again for coming...it was a BLAST! Oh, and CONGRATS to Yagnesh Patel (if I am remembering the name correctly) for winning it all with some crazy pocket aces.

Please feel free to post any comments or suggestions about the Poker Night on the wolfweb...we would love to hear from you.

Definitely a good game... I was amazed we were able to actually get a single winner just in time (9:40pm). Sorry the blinds had to move so fast and also for the mess with changing the value of the white chips. The blinds had to move like that or else it would've gone on all night. And if we did not change the whites like we did, with all the counting of chips on all ins, we wouldn't have been close to finishing when we did. Next time the idea is to have another color of chips ready to be changed out at some point

If anyone, whose email address I did not already get, wants to get on my email or IM list for our regular tourneys around here (no charity ), just send me a PM or IM.

Not that I am an avid poker player or anything, but I am glad the aces held up for someone 3-9 suited (pre-flop all-in) That was my crippling moment...never really made it back from that.

But it was a lot of fun. I mean I was in for 2 hours and beat my brother. The most important thing.
