College GameDay Parking Friday, Saturday Football Busing/Parking Availability

submitted by tcaravano on Monday, October 18 2004 at 8:13 PM

This Friday ESPN College GameDay will hold a live taping from 5-5:30pm. Parking for the event during the State Fair will be tight. Athletics has provided 1000 guaranteed spots for students in the Southeast gravel lot behind the score board. To avoid fair traffic please enter at Edward Mills Rd. Student Wolfpack Club members can pick up their portion of the 1000 from their leaders. Other students should pick up the remainder from the Student Government office on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (while they last) in 307 Witherspoon Student Center. For those who do not get a permit for Friday, there may be other spaces around the stadium lot available.

Saturday morning, GameDay will be back at 10:30am. For those students that receive Trinity Lot Parking Permits that lot as well as the other stadium parking lots will open at 8am. We are encouraging folks to visit the fair, the GameDay set and the Walk of Champions (outisde the Murphy Center) 90 minutes before kick-off - making it a full day event.

Student Government will not run its buses from the usual stops because Athletics and the fairgrounds have buses running from 8am-midnight. These buses will run from the Dan Allen Parking Deck, the McKimmon Center, and the Wachovia Center on Trinity Rd. Remember, there will be no fairground parking, so this will be the best option for transportation.

it'll obviously be in the rbc lot with the scoreboard in the background. it makes the most sense in terms of accommodating the crowd. there's just not enough room by the wolf turf statue.

The buses will be running on continuous loops from 8am to midnight. They will pick up from Dan Allen Deck, McKimmon Center, and Wachovia Lot on Trinity. It will drop off near the stadium. I have been told that the wait will not be very long between buses.
