Design School Bash of the Spring-- Beaux Arts Ball

Come to the Design Schools annual spring bash, the Beaux Arts Ball, hosted by AIAS, American Institute of Architecture Students.

Theme: "Strut YO Sneaks!"
Where: AntFarm Studios, Boylan Ave.
When: Saturday, APRIL 9th, 2005 from 9pm- 2am

Tickets for the event will be sold every MWF at the Egg on east campus at the Design School from 12-1:30 until April 8th. Tickets are $10 and that includes the party, the beer, and a free shuttle service from the bus stop on Stinson Dr.

T-shirt and ticket deal for presold tickets up til April 8th. T-shirt and ticket for $15.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door. You are cordially invited to participate in one of the design schools most reputable events. So mark your calenders!

hmm...i guess i thought this was only for design people...not the kind of thing that was advertised to the rest of the campus

i remember one year...i think it was 2 years ago... there were only 15 or 20 people there sippin on 2 kegs in the pit by kamphoefner

but of course, you can't raise much money that way....so the more the merrier i suppose

No, we are always open to the rest of campus... however the leaders of AIAS in the past have always been kinda lame and never advertised well or got everything organized in time. I remever going to that lame one in the pit that year when I was a freshman. AIAS is under new leadership now, so its going to be amazing as it was last year. We have three kegs this year and your admission gets you all you can drink. So come party with the design kids!

yea, thats what happens when AIAS thinks it would be great idea to have a formal in a place where 5 months ago there were naked chicks in paint for the halloween bash. The Ant Farm was excellent last year. Great art and location.

it still pisses me off that only the design school is given alcohol permits for on-campus events. with that said, i'll probably be at this event.

to answer and clarify a few comments... The posting is for the Beaux Arts Ball this saturday, april 9th. The theme is Strut yo Sneaks! to be interpreted as you wish, as long as you are wearing sneakers you will be in the clear. This ball has a reputation for being a little more upscale than the design schools halloween bash, but people come in whatever they want. Costumes, ridiculous outfits, dress clothes... whatever will be fine.

The "free booooze" mentioned above by marko is in reference to Studio Crawl. Your imported beer may be stolen by some random character at this event but why would you bring your own. Studio crawl is an open design event that is organized to exhibit the work that design kids do all year. There is wine and beer provided by each of the departments for this event, however it is an event mostly about the work and having the opportunity to view what everyone has done over the course of the year.

The egg is a sculpture piece in the brickyard between Brooks and Kampheofner Halls. Buy your tickets at the door now though... its going to be a crazy party. Catch the shuttle at the bus stop by brooks hall on stinson dr.
